Hey raw friends!
I'm going to be visiting San Diego for the first time in the beginning of November! I'm super excited! Where are some of your favorite places to eat/shop? Any suggestions for restaurants, health food stores, farmers markets, supermarkets with good organic sections, etc. Also, cooked food restaurants where I can get a good salad or fruit plate would be excellent, since I will be traveling with a cooked-fooder who won't want to eat in raw places the whole time =).
Thanks so much in advance for your suggestions/advice!
-Bethany =)

We are at a place near SD that had organic raw and also cooked yet can't remember the name. We picked up some supplies there. :(

Cilantro Live which Revell recommended is great! Another raw restaurant is Coleur Alive in Lemon Grove, www.couleuralivecafe.net. Coleurs is within a couple miles of the Optimum Health Institute if you want to stop and take a look www.optimumhealth.org .You'll also be close to Nature's First Law health food store in El Cajon. Go to www.naturesfirstlaw.com and click on retail store.

Coleur Alive is the one I'd forgotten. They have a "regular" menu for you friend and you can get raw!!! They have two separate menus.

I've heard fantastic things about Chino Farms in Rancho Santa Fe. For some reason, I'm having trouble copying a link about it for you. Just google chino farms and san diego, and you'll get info about it.

My favorite item at Cilantro Live is the Mole Enchilada. Oh yum. Then we usually share a banana split. And my favortie item at Coleur is the Nori roll with asian pate. I like their mango ice cream too. I've been to the Rancho's raw food deli, and I had an excellent wrap. I can't remember what kind now, but I was impressed. My husband ordered from the restaurant menu, being a cooked eater.

Hey RawRobin! :) Do you find it difficult in Jamul for raw supplies? (I ask as if you are on the moon! :) ) It must be very beautiful out there!!
yeahbethany: there is also a monthly raw potluck around Balboa Park. I've never been, but it sounds fun. they say you don't have to worry about bringing something fancy, just anything raw to share. You could enjoy the park and have a great raw lunch!
I finally went to Cilantro Live! I had the Royale Cheeseburger....it was very yummy!

I would like to know more about the potluck. I am in San Diego, right near Qualcomm. Let me know if it is still happening. Thanks.

You guys are making me hungry!!!! Thanks for all the great links! I'm just north of San Diego. The Chamber of Commerce could probably provide any visitor to San Diego with info on all the farmer's markets about town (there are lots just about any day of the week!) The local paper info desk would be able to give out this information, too!
