ques. about protein

hi. i have a question about protein. i am new and i hope i'm posting in the right area. if you don't eat meat, how do you get protein? from nuts? or do you eat raw meat? this board looks very nice and helpful. i have been tring raw food for a couple months, but i am still unsure about the protein. thank you for answering my question.
