So I just ate a sandwich with this bread (https://www.foodforlife.com/procart_catalog/index.cfm?ProductID=43&do=detail). I'd seen it way before going raw, and saw it in the store today and it was kind of an impulse buy. I hadn't looked it up before to see if it was really raw but the packaging was all, "live grains", "sprouted", and being that newbie that I am, I figured it was raw. Lo and behold I go on their site and this is what it says:
Does "live grain" mean Food For Life breads are considered a "raw" food?
Foods are typically considered “Raw” if they are cooked at temperatures below 110 degrees. Our 100% flourless breads must be baked above 250 degrees Fahrenheit or they would spoil during baking unless they are dehydrated. Although our breads are slow baked, at temperatures much lower than typical commercial bakeries, they are not considered “Raw”.
You live and you learn. Bummer. I was all excited too. And now my throat is doing that "growling" thing (literally) which means I'm having some indigestion. (I haven't had this since before going raw.) Another sign that it WASN'T raw. :(
This isn't going to mess me up too much is it, the detox and everything, I mean??
