I think that's what it's called. Is there a way to adjust that length of time for being automatically logged out because of inactivity, in the user control panel? I often have to log back in if it takes me more than a few minutes to put together a post. I think I have figured out how to work around it by hitting the back button three times after logging back in. That usually returns me to what I once thought was a vanished reply. If it is settable by the individual user that would be preferable. Not sure how that works here. Thanks.

I wonder if this is a setting that you have on your internet and nothing to do with this site.
Are you logged out of other sites because of this. Do you have a PC or a Mac.

I have not seen this problem. There is a box to check where you log in and you can check remember me or whatever and leave yourself logged in.

I am on my wifes mac temporarily. My charger failed. I may have to use the "remember me" button. So far I have not used it. I had this happen at another forum in the past I thought, and it seemed there was an adjustability to the time limit for it. I could be wrong. I'm not all that computer savy. Thanks much!

Oh yeah, it is not happening on other sites, but I have visited them before on this computer, prior to visiting RFT, so it may be in the cookie or internet settings as you say sport. I will ask Lisa about that....I am most certainly not mac savvy. Thanks much!

I am and it's not a Mac thing. It could very well be your settings but then it would happen on every site, not just this one. There is a box to check when you log in as LL said. That solves the issue for me.

If you are a Late Night user of this Forum and you are posting at Midnight. You will automatically be Logged out and have to relong on. It happens to ME all the time. Its just a 24 hour thing.

I sometimes get logged off while doing a long blog. After losing a couple that didn't reappear when I logged back in I started saving my extra long blogs as drafts. At least that way I can't lose the whole thing. :)

I should learn to save my work. I did find that if you hit the back button on your browser window three times in succession it will bring your post back. Try that once with an experimental post. It's like this I think....from my original post, submit takes me to the log in screen, then logging in directs me to a white page with nothing on it. Once more on the back button goes back to log in page, and once more on the back button takes you to my written reply in the works. Then I can hit the submit again and it will post. I think I have that right. could be four hits and it may only work if you hit them in quick succession, rather than waiting for each page to load. It's all so confusing...
