What's your take on Brian Clement?
I watched a couple of his videos on youtube.
He says that sprouts are 10 - 30 times more nutritious than any organic vegetable grown in your own backyard and eaten straight away. WOW
What do you think??
Dr John Tickell in "The Great Australian Diet" says that vegetables and fruits are really important and healthy... he travelled the world and studied the diet of the people who are most disease free... and who live the longest... the Okinawas.
Brian Clement seems very passionate about what he believes.
It's exciting reading and researching isn't it. I quite enjoy it. :) Although, now and then I wouldn't mind if more of the health "gurus" agreed rather than contradicting each other - that way it would be easier to understand! ;)
Merry Christmas! :)

He doesn't believe it. He's done the research. He KNOWS it.

to me no ones put it all together so i stay in a mode of lightly skimming
over many opinions while giving as much weight to the opinions of every day basic forum members whose ideas ive come to respect as i do to the famous raw foodists
and the late from way past rawfoodie norman walker stills my fave opinion even though he wrote the books of his i read over 50 years ago , raw fruit and vegi juices by him is my fave book ever . not exactly totally right on with all of it as its from way back , but his base explination of how our bodies work and why raw plants are best for them was right exactly on imo and all i needed to hear to become a raw foodist for ever more

I go by the viewpoint that greens should be eaten by the bunch and sprouts by the handful.
I don't recall the "expert" who stated that, or the reason for it, however I don't think it had anything to do with the amount of nutrients.
Sure would be nice if more experts agreed. Don't think it will ever happen. ;)
Merry Christmas to you, too. :)

ive given as gifts about 20 editions of raw fruit and vegis ,
every time a friends kid graduates from high school i give
them one . and they all hate it :D
the classic chapter in the book , dont have an edition currently as i keep giving them away , is where it says something like :
" HOW TO KNOW HOW TO LIVE AND WHAT TO EAT "
i book mark that in every edition i give to a person and say at
minimum read this part . its 2 pages of very valuable wisdom

I have great respect for him. He's helped a whole lot of people get better.
I don't agree with all of his diet protocols, though. Years ago I attempted a Hippocrates-style diet and I didn't find it sustainable -- I felt, and still feel, much better with ample fruit (and greens). Brian says to limit fruit to 15% of the diet, which pretty much means you have to eat tons of raw fat or cooked starches.
Even so, he has had great success helping very ill people regain their health and for that I applaud him!

Sprouts are bio-generic. I learned this in a raw foods class. They generate life within us as opposed to foods which, for instance, sustain us. They have the highest amount of life force energy in terms of types of nutrition, because they are in a state of generating life when we eat them = We are recieving life generating energy not just minerals and vitamins. There were people at the class whose diet was 10% bio-generic (sprouts). This was considered optimal. The new models of sprouters are way more efficient and they are inexpensive. Even if you consume just 1 or 2 types of sprouts you are getting a huge boost of life force. Alfalfa sprouts are a big favorite..eaten with humus they are awesome!
