Anyone here pop drinkers in a past life? I'd be frontin' if I said I didn't miss that feeling when I was like, mad thirsty and quenched myself with cold, fizzy sweet liquid euphoria. Water is cool and all but... it fails to offer an experience quite like carbonated corn syrup does. What does one do?

This is where Kombuchie steps to the plate. For those that haven't heard about it, it's green tea 'n sugar fermented by a SCOBY (Symbiotic Colony Of Bacteria and Yeast). It's touted as a health elixir/detoxifier which I won't spew much about, but it allegedly contains probiotics, enzymes, antioxidants, organic acids, and polyphenols. And yea dawg it's fizzy like pop mission accomplished.

I have 2 cultures going... hey speak of the devil there they are now.

Once you get over them looking like wrinkly asspancakes you're in for rewards. For noobers wantin' to give it a try I recommend GT's Kombucha, the Citrus one has a Squirt (http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/object3/1570/48/n59554449798_5441.jpg) ring to it. If you end up brewing your own you can go uber custom with the flavorings. You should start slow on it, my first few bottles made my skin itch to amazing proportions... I guess this is where the detox part comes into play.

Here's a bottle of satsuma orange juice fortified Kombucha I have in the fridge right now, I hear talk of it getting fizzier if you let it sit a week or so after harvesting it from your SCOBY container, so I'm givin' it a go.

Drop some Kombucha Love!

So this is what I'm doing:

I'm quite the fan of Frey's wine (raw and organic) but it has quite the bitter bite to it, this is where I dilute with Kombucha.

2/3 Kombucha
1/3 Freys Superraw and organic wine

So you got the many beneficial health effects of Kombucha and the Resveratrol power of red wine superpacked into a new, godly beverage. And after doing some calculations/ using my own possibly flawed common sense, I figured that the alcohol contained within this drink isn't enough to harm the beneficial bacteria that exist in Kombucha. So drink on my homeboys, love life, love raw, love Doperaw, thats right gimme hugs I'm ripe for a squeezin.

Looks good. Where does one get the scoby scoobie? Whole foods, or good health food store as scoby? Don't tell me I have to fly to Amsterdam to get some. Or is it built just prior to adding to the tea from the individual ingredients? Thanks bud.;)
This is new to me. I have seen it listed here but never checked it out.

I'm a major Kombucha addict. I was never a real fan of soft drinks or alcohol in the past, though, so for me carbonated beverages are a "new" addiction.

I LOVE filling a wine glass to the brim with Ginger Kombucha and sipping it for an hour while writing... makes me feel so.... chic. ;)

I got my Scooby SCOBY from someone off of here^^, just look for the closest area and e-mail people from said area, and arrange to pickup a SCOOBY or have one mailed.

A wine glass is begging for wine in the mix. Eh I guess Kombucha alone will do.
