How do you make sure you get enough iron on a raw vegan diet?

I read an article in "Readers Digest" magazine that said greens need to be eaten with wholegrains in order for our bodies to absorb iron.

Do you think that sounds right??

If it did, I'd be dead.

Parsley is a good source of iron, as well as some berries, such as strawberries.

I... wouldn't look to Reader's Digest for life guidance.

I very rarely eat raw sprouted grains, like once or twice a month or so. And this is my first raw pregnancy, which is a time when iron levels are especially important. My midwife is extremely impressed with my iron levels, so I really don't think grains have anything to do with it in my case! I do try to have a green smoothie every day, but I won't try to add anything else to the food lists that have already been given. Just my own raw experience.
