So my baby is turning three! We are going to have a party for her and lots of the people there will be very mainstream in their eating. I would like for the majority of what I serve to be raw (and thus good for everyone!). There will be about 15 adults, 20 kids...
so far:
raw Waldorf salad
carrot/raisin salad
salsa
some sort of hummus
Any ideas on other dishes that are somewhat easy, can serve lots of people and don't cost too much? Also, any dessert recommendations? I have Alissa's book, the dessert books from Ani Phyo and Cafe Gratitude (I even have Irish Moss!).
Thanks

Frozen banana sorbet!!! I just had my first frozen banana today, and it's absolutely wonderful. It melts in your mouth like ice cream, is very creamy, and sweet. Extremely close to vanilla ice cream. Maybe you could put some cacao nibs in there for some flare.

How about some basic cucumber salad (with tomato and red onion), or brocilli salad. You can make some kind of date/nut balls too. Or how about some rawviolies (They are quick to make and make alot). Also, a veggie tray with a few dips/pates would be wonderful.
Blessings,
Cathy :)

How about making some corn chips to go with the hummus and salsa and how about some brownies or almond pulp chocolate chip cookies to go with the ice cream which you can make with your juicer.

Rawritos with guac and kale chips should be a hit with main stream folks
Star fruit slice with berries on top is cute and tasty

I usually suggest a really easy to make triple layer ice cream cake decorated with fruits, I can send you the recipe (well, it's barely a recipe!), really easy, cheap (use on special overripe bananas), nut free, easy on little tummies and visually very appealing if you make a real fancy decoration theme.
If you have a champion juicer or other juicer that makes ice cream, I find kids go NUTS over fresh banana ice cream being made before their eyes (this is a big hit at my son's school when I do it for fairs and markets. Flavour it with anything you like!
Hope this helps!
