I'm new to eating raw, been about three weeks so far and have read a good bit about fasting, however, there's no way I could do a week right now. I was wondering if I should start doing a single day fast here and there and then move up to a 3 day fast, etc.

And, when fasting, does one only drink water. Or, can you also drink juice from juicing?

Thanks,
Jeff

I have read many times that you should either do one day per week or a 3 day one per month.

Any amount of fasting has it's benefits. wether it be physical, mental, spiritual, psychosocial etc...

There are no rules... design your own. Know the intention and go for it.

Use you religious/ spiritual affiliation as a guide or just go for it one hour and one day at a time.

for me fastings like long distance running , youve got to build up little by little to become able to go greater distances that can accomplish great things as its recorded that many have cleared very serious diseases by doing long fasts . so its a valuable health tool to have ready . and even one day is liked by many in ailments like colds / flus to speed up the process of flushing out the germ laiden mucous

and even if only ever get to a one day fast level your still working at attaining greater control of appetite , which obviously is very good for health

plus you save money that day

and no dishes

i was amazed at how much extra time i had to do things on days i fasted ,
preparing / eating / cleaning after meals 3 times a day or so takes time

I really enjoy 1-day juice fasts where I don't limit myself. I recently felt called to do one for 5 days, but the 1 day tends to be just enough of a break to not have to start thinking about enemas or my metabolism going a little out of whack.

every moment you spend fasting is a benefit just like every time you put raw live food into your body instead of a SAD choice... you benefit.

so yes... one day will benefit you.

fast on... fast on!!!
