Garlic is a natural blood thinner.
Raw garlic is strong, so maybe blend it with hummus or other dips. Veggies with raw hummus would be a good snack.
If you can handle it, blending garlic in smoothies would be good.

Specific foods? Don't know, but all raw foods has lowered mine from the 145/85 to 104/72. How high are you?
In "Sweet Gratitude New World of Raw Desserts" there is a chapter about Irish Moss. It says "Because Irish Moss contains blood thinning properties and is considered an anticoagulant , early research has claimed that Irish Moss can reduce high blood pressure and the risk of arteriosclerosis." Also claims to be beneficial for respiratory systrm, digestion, thyroid function, weight loss and pregnancy.
I find the weight loss part amusing since it is mostly used in desserts. :)

if on salt quit , or extremely lighten amount
besides thinning blood the garlic added by the ton to my vinegar / oil salad dressings replaces the salt taste . and when i get to a point where i want to break down and eat a bag of chips because craving salt i add sea salt in light amount to my dressing
dried tomatos taste salty too

I am not sure about which foods either, but maca root is supposed to be very good for correcting imbalances in the endocrine system which is responsible for regulating blood pressure. I take it you are not on any other medications that might be causing the high b/p? Seeing as you only have a couple weeks, I would say for sure to get some maca tincture or extract and take it for the next two weeks. I find the tincture to be faster acting and more noticeable in it's effect than powder, but I am just staring out on the powder myself.
Edited to endorse the garlic suggestions.

141 over 103! I could not believe it. They took it twice. Ouch. I've always been 110 over 60.
So. Gotta to do something. :p I'm thinking it's going to be a multi prong approach...food, exercise and learning relaxation techniques. Lots and lots of relaxation techniques. LOL I really am just beyond shocked.
Thanks for all the ideas. I'm going to keep search the internet and hope something jumps out at me that will make a difference.

Raw apple cider vinegar with the "mother" in it. Dosages are approx 1 tbs. per 10 ounces of water. You can add stevia for taste.
If you Google "Raw apple cider vinegar high blood pressure" you will find lots of info.
Good luck,
PS: I add my vote to all the garlic infos.

What everyone else said, and in particular about the salt.
Good luck in getting it down naturally! :)

oh ho ho how funny it is for me to run into this...
The other day I was at my physicians getting typical check-ups blah blah. The nurse comes in, takes my BP and says "the number is kind of high", I thought "huh?" Turns out my BP was 160/80... I am 21, in good health and shape and I have a blood pressure of 160/80? No boozer no cigarrettes, raw food.. didn't seem right.
I get back to my place and use my grandmother's BP monitor. Attempted twice on both arm... 119/79, 120/78, etc etc.
HA... and I went into the doctors to be told I have HBP. Culprit couldn't be raw... :D

Like Mikey said, it may have been an anomaly. You may have been stressed or nervous. There is what they call white coat hypertension. Meaning the doc makes you nervous. LOL. Go to the drug store and take your blood pressure on their self serve machines over a couple of days and see what the results are. That will be a more realistic result.

Get yourself a blood pressure cuff at the store and take your BP three times a day for several weeks and keep a record of it. There is a very good chance you DON'T have hypertension. One high reading at the office is meaningless.
But if you do find it is high, 100% raw will fix it. I know from your blog you have been having trouble sticking to 100% raw. My slowly rising BP was another motivation for me to go raw, and it has since dropped like a rock and stayed there.

This. Go 100% RAW - and stick to it. This can be your motivation, Shel!! Read Alissa's book and other books on RAW and you'll see time and time again where people have healed their high blood pressure on 100% RAW FOODS... simply that!

1nd ask for more time. 2 weeks isn't enough time for most treatments to show their worth.
2nd. Increase your K factor (potassium to sodium) through increased fresh fruits and sodium restriction. You are looking for 4:1 or better for at least 4 weeks. Source: The High Blood Pressure Solution by Richard Moore, MD PhD.
3rd If there is an IAHP doctor near you, consider water only fasting. There is no faster natural therapy. Goldhamer is the authority on this. http://www.healthpromoting.com/Articles/pdf/Study%2032.pdf. Joel Fuhrman does not recommend a water-only fast that is not supervised by an IAHP or similarly exprienced professional for more than 3 days.
4th make deep breathing an adjunct therapy. There is a product called RESPERATE that claims to be able to help you automate deep breathing for a 10 to 15 point reduction in HBP. I don't question the effectiveness of the therapy. I question shelling out $300 for it. Here's a URL for free you can try as an adjunct. http://www.meditationiseasy.com/mCorner/aids/pause_breath.htm All RESPERATE does is keep a count. So why does a machine that just keeping count cost $300? Wouldn't a slow metronome do the same thing??? :D
as a sidebar, when you go to see your doctor, don't let them take your bloodpressure right when they put the cuff on. Ask to wait one minute while you deep breath. For me I've found that's good for over a 10 point reduction on systolic (the upper number) and over 5 on diastolic (the lower number). Also, recommend buying your own OMRON HBP kit and bringing it into the doctor's office. he or she will want to know what your home readings are because of white coat syndrome.
Best to you.
p.s. agree with above posters to stay 100% raw.

141 over 103! I could not believe it. They took it twice. Ouch. I've always been 110 over 60. How long after eating was it? A doctor once freaked me out about this and was trying to send me to the hospital until a friend asked me about this. Not once did the doctor think of asking.
Spiritual practices are the best way to lower your blood pressure-meditation, yoga, deep breathing, etc.

Ya'll are so helpful thank you for all the wonderful suggestions and encouragement. (Fasting all night to take a blood test in morning...so empty tummy there.) ;) Also, I have taken my blood pressure daily at the local pharmacy, much the same as the doc's. But just last night...a drop! 132/83! :D It's coming down. Still high for me, but much much better.
Then they called back yesterday with my final test results. It appears that I have Hypothyroidism. Ok. :o All of this is linked. I was actually proud of myself that I new immediately something wasn't right with my body.
I totally agree with spiritual relaxation. I plan on worshipping on my piano a lot more these days. ;)
This has however really got me eating better and re-evaluating food choices. I'm not 100% raw, but much closer than I've been in months.

My mom's DC told her to eat celery. Like 6 sticks per day and it would bring BP down. I don't know if it works but I do know that raw fruits and vegetables have been proven in studies to lower BP so keep eating raw. And if you want it down fast take a break from all added sodium like sea salt and Braggs, etc. You can test later to see if adding it back affects you. Not everyone is sensitive to salt but some are. Try 100% raw with no added salt and extra celery. And go pet some animals, pray, and relax!
i have been going to my heart doctor a lot in the past few months and they take 6 pressur test in a row..a in bet them and they do an average..this is better.
if you look into some books..like natral medicine you will see a load off stuff you could take.
if ever you want to no some i can get it in my home library and say a few things no prob.

Thanks you guys! I will definitely bulk up on the celery as I love the stuff. :p Yes, I find that when I eliminate the processed stuff because of sodium...it's actually the easiest thing to chose raw foods. Who knew my blood pressure would lead me back to raw!?!?! Crazy body. Anywho.
I posted this to my blog, but not sure if I covered it here...they got the last of my blood work back and I actually have hypothyroidism. They've been testing me for this since I was about 10 and never found anything off...now...they've found it. So. I believe the blood pressure is related.
It has come down this week eating more raw though. It's 132/83. That's a lot better. That bottom number was up to 103 at the doc's. I'm very pleased.
The better resources we give our bodies the better they can function. And I find that with the doc's recommendations...my family is totally on board with my healthier eating. :D It's been a blessing in disguise.
Thanks for all the help you guys. You RAWK!!! (((HUGS)))
