Does anyone know where I can just go and buy fresh wheatgrass in the Toronto area? Especially North York close to Bathurst and Wilson. I just can't seem to find a place to buy it when I want it.

Toronto Sprouts is either out of business or revamping. All the reasonably nearby places I called don't have it. I don't want to do a delivery order.

I'd grow it, but I don't have the space to keep a steady supply going. When I tried to squeeze out the space, I was rewarded by gnats and mold. I will try again, but in the meantime I just want to find a place I can run into and buy some. Should that be so hard in a place like Toronto?

Thanks

I don't know about your area but check out Health Food Stores or places that sell Fresh Juices and maybe you can find Juice Shots of it.

Did you try The Big Carrot on the Danforth?

Damien,
Yes, I love The Big Carrot, but it is pretty far from my area. I get there whenever I can though. It's just not regular enough for me to keep a steady supply of wheatgrass.
Thanks

I've only been to the Big Carrot twice so far (live about 3 hours from there) but after we move in the spring we'll only be about an hour from it, so I'll be going once a month then (bliss bliss bliss :D )

I know Booster juicer & Jugo juice sells weal grass shots, but I don't recommend it. They all have mold!!!!
The staff isn't trained on how to take care of it. I think they just grow it and sell it. I have been to various locations and they are all the same.
If you do decide to get it from one of those places, check the tray they cut grass from.

Hi,

I'm still looking to find places where wheatgrass are sold in Toronto, Canada.

Am not looking for places such as booster juice where they do it for you. I'd like to find stores or supermarkets where seeds, and raw wheatgrass are sold in the produce section.

I wonder if Metro, Loblaws, No Frills supermarkets sells them, if not, they should.

Your directions is much appreciated.

http://www.handypantry.com/product/HP-WHT - this is what I am looking for but apparently it's only in USA.

here are places that wheatgrass are sold in various forms, but none in seed (kernel) form; the Big Carrot has "kernels" to sell but not sure how much it is as it went to voice mail.

I would really like to buy the 35 lbs for $38.95 but it is only sold in USA.

ANyone know where I can purchase it from Toronto, Canada?

I called all the BULK BARN stores but all of them said they do not sell it.

Okay, good news Torontonians! I saw these guys at the Whole Life Expo on the weekend and they are really nice. They are delivering my first order this morning!

http://mbchocolate.ca/mbpdf.pdf You have to scroll down past the chocolate but there you will find what they grow and the cost.

Also talked to a great guy there, Benjamin Stone (who btw has an amazing story), one of the presenters who is looking to get the former Toronto Sprouts up and running in the not-too-distant future!!!

...and Yay, Brian Clement! People hearing him or going to Hippocrates are very motivated to find a source for wheatgrass and other sprouts!

Of course we can always TRY to grow them at home...

Have you heard of Mumm's? That is where the sprout growing places get their seed. This is an amazing website that has detailed instructions, huge variety of seeds and equipment. http://www.sprouting.com/
