so - I wanted a green smoothie but didn't have any greens, and thought I'd take a chance.
The garden is covered in snow, so I went out and brushed the snow away, found the kale looked just lovey! I sampled it....it was incredibly tasty! I gathered a bit of the kale and some turnip greens, I think there were some beet greens looking ok - I'll leave them for another time:p

Fun! :)
That would be so amazing if I could just step outside and there was my food! Even better if I could have any fruit and veggie I wanted.

Kale goes along ways into winter..it is amazing.Prob gives us longevity..haha
My freind did the same thing Sunday, went out in the snow and picked me a bag. They said the new leaves are shooting out all over the place!
Ahhh to be where I can pic year round...yes, a worhty goal!

GREAT idea!
I've been eying all those nice planters with kale and other hardy plants in them that you see on people's porches. I think I'm going to get one and besides the lovely sight of them, enjoy some fresh crisp cold kale too! Hmm I wonder how it will look in there once I have been carving away at it. Guess it won't grow back at this point, will it. Oh well, it was a thought.

Yum, I have some kale seed -- I should plant some! I LOVE it in green smoothies and I love marinated/"wilted" kale salad!

You brushed away SNOW? And found edible greens?

Wow... I feel suddenly inspired.
I tried a veggie garden this fall, but it was TOO hot... and now it's TOO cold! My poor plants couldn't decide whether they wanted to die by HEAT or die by FREEZE... so they died by both!
