Wow, I am on my 7th day of the Master Cleanse! I feel great and feel like I could go without food forever. LOL I literally have not felt this good in years! (been plagued by FMS and CFS for years now) I was even able to start exercising and can do my 3 mile walk aerobics tape! I started out at 100% raw on August 17th and did that for 2 weeks and then started the MC on the 31st. :D

My question is, is it really healthy to continue this MC for a long period of time? I've read you can go as long as 40 days doing this. My concern is the complete lack of protein while doing this. I've lost 17 pounds so I'm not complaining, but don't want to do anything to damage my body, either. Thanks for any help you can give.

Blessings,
~Lisa~

Congrats Lisa!

Of course you could do that for 40 days. It will be great for your system. Protein? Its over-rated. Enjoy the process and when you are done with the MC, stay raw. You will go higher and higher.

Peace.

Hi Lisa,
I am on day 29 of my fourth MC. I have done a 21, 23 and a 10 day MC before this. I have heard of folks going as long as 60 days on the MC with great success.
Best Always,
LN

Thanks for the replies. :)

Todd, what about all the talk for the last umpteen years about how you're losing muscle instead of fat if you don't eat protein? What's your take on that?

LNDolls, Wow, that is fantastic. Good for you! Have you lost weight and kept it off doing the MC's? I have read so many stories about people gaining most or all of it back when they start eating again and I don't want that to happen to me.

Blessings,
~Lisa~

I did lose weight on all the MCs I have done, but did not keep it off. I had a death of a dear one to contend with and cleansing is very low calorie, so regaining weight is way easy on the SAD way of eating. Weight loss is not the biggest benefit of doing the MC. I am doing it to clear my system and give myself a clearer slate to do raw. I ahve been a compulsive overeater and obese for a few deacades... and I know what detox is... so I am doing this to make it as comfortable as possible for me to succeed.
I am on day 30 today and very pleased with how great I am feeling.
Best Always.
