What is it?? What's your go-to non dehydrator recepie??

I am looking for some stuff to make to keep the cravings at bay (in my second month). I know Alissa has lots of non-dehydrator stuff but I am just wondering what everyone likes the most.

Cheers all :)

"I'm keeping my eye on this thread," says the new raw foodie with no dehydrator. :o:D

ETA: I forgot to add my own! Well...it's not "really" a recipe, but I'll share anyway. My FAVORITE non-dehydrated food/snack right now is avocado spread on sliced cucumber! Yumm! *drools just thinking about it* I also love lettuce wraps with avocado, cucumber slices and salsa. Now I've gone and made myself hungry! lol

I'll second the nori rolls, made wth eggless egg salad, and I also like Da Bomb Cheddar Cheese sauce (search this forum) and zucchini hummus, both eaten with veggie slices. Pasta with marinara or pesto is also great.

I'm saving this thread and hope the list grows longer :)

Right now, my favorites are chocolate/avocado pudding and guacamole on top of salad greens. I could completely live on these two things.

Also love chia pudding (http://therawtarian.com/raw-chia-tapioca-pudding-recipe/) for dessert.

I third nori rolls!

Currently, Gabriel Cousen's CHILI recipe with a few Greenie-alterations for taste preference...

Sauce:
2 Roma tomatoes
1 c. sundried tomatoes (soaked overnight)
2 avocados
1 t. Chili Powder (or more to taste with ALL seasonings)
1 t. Cayenne
1 T. Bragg's Liq Aminos
1 t. Sea Salt
1/3 c. Olive Oil

Put SAUCE ingredients in Food Processor and combine until a creamy paste texture.

Veggies:
1 c. chopped Purple Cabbage
1 c. sliced Carrots (I use my Saladacco to get them super thin...)
1/3 c. chopped Green Onions
1/2 c. chopped Red Bell Pepper

Chop all veggies into bite sized pieces, marinate lightly in a little Olive Oil and Sea Salt, then combine with SAUCE. Pop in the ol' dehydrator for 1-2 hrs. until it crisps over on top and gets warmed throughout.

Voila!!!! FABULOUS Chili recipe that is a real SAD crowd pleaser, too!!! Uploading pics later...

I vote for the ice cream. Favourite at the moment is pecan and strawberry in frozen bananas.
I also like to chop apples in to cashew cream and add the grated rind of a lemon.

5 minutes from go wo woah:

curried cauliflower rice

measurements so approximate I'm not sure why I'm bothering with them!

2 cups caulifower
1-2 tomatoes
1 carrot
1-2 handfuls of greens like arugula, romaine, or other dark green
half a bell pepper
also, you can put things like sesame or sunflower seeds, nori sheets, sundried tomatoes etc.

or basically any veg you want with cauliflower as a base

with either

curry sauce: put half an avocado, raw olive or other oil, pinch of celtic salt, cumin seeds or cumin powder, garam masala.

or basic flavouring: herbs like basil, oregano etc. pinch of salt, raw oil.

put everything in the food processor (including the flavouring/sauce ingredients) and pulse till mixed. EAT!

YUMMY! Seeing new recepies gets me motivated! Been looking for a raw mayo cause I'm really wanting raw waldorf salad - I want cabbage :)

Sport - what's cashew cream?? Sounds yummy. Is it like Alissa's whipped cream made with cashews and vanilla bean?

Chili has been my downfall - made some vegan chilli last week.....back on track now :D

Curried Cauliflower Rice sounds like fabulous Indian food to me - delicious!

Guacamole. Mmmm...

Green smoothies.

Beet/apple/carrot/ginger/cucumber juice. Mmmm...

LOL, and I have some chai chocolate cheez-cake in the freezer right now. That is a good one! But way to decadent for all the time. I had 2 pieces yesterday (although didn't eat the crust because I don't enjoy having lots of chocolate) and definitely would enjoy the above more than the cheez-cake now.

I just made this last night and oh WOW, soooooooo yummy!!!!! Sometimes I look at recipes and I see so much wait, soak, dehydrate, etc, etc time and I pass it up because I am wanting to make something NOW!!!!

but I made this one first put it in the fridge and went about doing some other stuff and honestly started snacking on it after half hour, so the marinating isn't essential for it to taste great - but after a few hours the flavors were even more blended and the vegi's more soft - both ways - great!! My only changes were I halved the recipe(that was silly, lol) I only had red pepper, I made my zucchini with a potato peeler for nice thin shavings. I didn't do the cayenne, even though I love hot, I just wasn't feeling it last night! I also didn't drain it.

Fajitas
By Josephine, aka WyJozU2

2 portabella mushrooms, sliced
1 red, yellow, and green bell pepper sliced
2 cloves garlic crushed
1 Walla Walla sweet onion sliced
1 Zucchini sliced thin
1/4 cup Nama Shoyu
1/4 cup of olive oil
2 tbsp. of chili powder
1 tsp. of cumin powder
1/4 tsp. of cayenne powder

Combine ingredients together in bowl and marinate 2-4 hrs. Drain in a colander. Serve

Alissa torte. Sooo easy and yummy.

Crust: 2c raisins
2c walnuts (blend these two in food processor until it forms a ball)

Frosting: 1c dates, pitted and soaked
juice of 1/2 lemon (blend everything including the soaking water until creamy)

Press the crust into a pie plate. Frost. I found this recipe was better after sitting in the fridge for a day; the crust got really fudgy and dense. This will def. satisfy your craving!

I have a new favorite!! :D Made this tonight and it was DELICIOUS, even got the thumbs up from my daughter!! *insert proud mama face*

Raw pasta and marinara sauce! It was YUM!!

I got inventive (since I have a VEEEEEERY low tech raw food kitchen) :o

I used a potato peeler to cut my zucchini into what looked like a cross between linguini and fetuccini noodles. *insert proud raw newbie face*

The sauce was made using my low grade, FREE (thank ya freecycle) blender (and the help of a youtube recipe that I tweaked. Can I post it here? )

Here's my version of the recipe:

- 1.5 cups of tomatoes (I used organic roma)
- 1 cup of sundried tomatoes (the only ones I could find at Trader Joe's were soaked in olive oil)
- 3 cloves of organic garlic
- 1 organic red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice that I squeezed
- 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
- a "splash" of Braggs Liquid Amino Acids
- salt to taste (I used Himalayan pink salt)

I wanted some crunch to it, so I added organic broccoli over the zucchini pasta and topped it with marinara sauce. DELICIOUS! :D

Chocolate pudding. I don't follow a recipe. My taste buds are a better judge at how it should be made.

Avocado
Agave
Cacao
Coconut oil

I KNEW I couldn't be the only one who thought cacao and avocado were a great combination... I actually thought it would work well together before I went raw and everyone thought I was crazy!

Oh.My.Goodness! My new favorite snack right now is a pitted Medjool date with a pecan inside!

I got a big ol' bag of raw pecans from my local co-op and just now I really wanted something sweet. I was about to make my "snickers" treats and I was looking for my almonds to cut them up (for crunch) when I happened upon my pecans. Something said try it and I'm soooo glad I did! YUM! Don't even need to use my cacao powder.

So many..but my favorite right now would have to be Almond Feta cheese ontop of cucumber halves..divine...

also the zucchini angel hair with marinara sauce, so good, so simple.
Big salad with Tahini dressing...
and of course the frozen snickers bites, although I never got them together, made tootsie rolls instead..

Oooh, would you share this recipe with me please? Feta cheese was my weakness prior to becoming vegan (and then of course, raw vegan). I'm excited to 'hear' this!

When in doubt, superfood smoothies, giant green or fruit salad, creamy sweet pea soup

Creamy Sweet Pea Soup
2 cups sweet peas-fresh or thawed
1 medium cucumber
2 stalks celery
1 small orange-peeled seeded and cut up
1-2 Tbsp mellow miso
1 clove garlic
2 scallions
1/2-1 small avocado(optional)
Black pepper to taste
water-to get desired consistency
Blend all ingredients in high speed blender.
*Could add another 1/2-1 cup green peas after blending for texture.

This is one of my very favorite easy foods!

onMyJourney..I am so sorry to just see your request..but here it is, courtesy The Vegetarian Times, http://www.vegetariantimes.com/recipes/10951

I did not bake mine for crumbly-ness (needless to say that would take the RAW out of it), but it is so divine and creamy, I am in heaven..
I also didn't even bother with the herbed oil on top, I mixed my herbs in while it was blending..

Enjoy.

No worries at all, it wasn't long ago that I asked at all, just yesterday. :D Thank you SOOO much for sharing the recipe. It sounds divine, creamy would be great on my Sun Burgers and I might just pop some in the dehydrator to see if I could get it crumbly. w00 h00! I'm so excited to try this, thank you!!!

Hands down it's raw alfredo sauce (http://therawtarian.com/raw-alfredo-sauce-recipe/). I am eating some right now, even. I like it as a dip, too.
