Here's my journal post for today:

3 Months since I started my 30 day challenge. Here are the stats:

Weight Lost: 52.5 pounds + 14 from 1st raw attempt = 66.5 pounds since May

Inches Lost: Since 30 day challenge

Chest: 6"
Buddha Belly: 8.75"
Hips: 6.75"
Left Upper Arm: 2.5"
Right Upper Arm: 1.5"
Left Thigh: 4.5"
Right Thigh: 4.5"

I have maintained 100% simple raw with low fat without any slip ups (except in dreams). This month I have increased my exercise to include running and bicycling. I tend to wear myself out with exercise every day, but every day I push harder than the day before, so I attribute this loss of energy to the exercise and not raw. I've had a few tough days this month with cravings but they seem to be initiated by watching TV and all those pizza commercials. I've cut my TV time down to only my few favorite shows and the news to limit this exposure. Other than that It's been great. I'm buying my clothes from regular women's section...no more plus sizes for me.

This new month's challenge will be to get my daughter to start raw (she is supposed to start after I lose 12.5 more pounds). I've had Alissa's book returned to me and will be leaving it at her house this week. I also want to start doing some hiking at least once a week, do a couple of 20 mile bike rides, and up my running to 3 miles 3X per week.

I still have 67.5 pounds to lose. Sounds like a lot, but I'm basically half way there in 3.5 months. I doubt I'll be able to keep up the 15 pounds per month, but have no doubts that by March I will be there.

Raw has really changed my life. I have no gripes, no problems, no fears. This is a lifestyle that suits me and each and every day brings me joy.

Carlene, you've done wonderfully! Being half-way to your goal in 3 months ( with one other attempt ) is amazing.

I was talking amongst some older-than-me mothers of teens ( approximately 10 years older than I ) - and they were discussing the various different diets they're on. They were trying to convince themselves ( and reconvince me! ) that 2 lbs per week in the beginning was optimum - so that you didn't loose too quickly. I've not seen any real results from their dieting, but one lady - my age ) - and that's because she portion controls with smaller plates.

This way of eating is SO different. I was having difficulty understanding how quickly weight can just slough off... I mean, we've always been told that losing too much weight too quickly can be extremely dangerous. I'm sure in those who are near death- it might be - especially if you're not high raw/all raw while doing it. But, as we've seen.. time and time again - the results are truly amazing.

We're rooting for you to run across the finish line in March! I have daughters also, and it really is a good time to have with them while learing how to RELIVE with food. She'll enjoy the book! Get the DVD's for her, too

Just had to say AWESOME!!!!! I am so happy for you not only because you have lost half of the weight you want to but also because you feel great, are enjoying the journey ad also being a great role model for others - especially your children.

I have been high raw for a few months and day 3 on 100%. Your story inspires me and I am sending you a higu hug through the computer to let you know that on the other side of the world someone really admires you and what you have done.

Hi Carlene,

I just read your Journal too and I wanted to say, Way to go Girl! Your Journal is very inspiring. I was wondering about the liver cleanse you do. Can you tell me a little more about it?

Thanks everyone. It truely has been an awesome journey. As for pictures...arggg. I hate looking at them. I did take a before picture, before May and one at 1 month (no difference I could see). I have a couple from my vacation. Truth is I just hate looking at them. That fat person is so not who I see myself as. My photography defines me so much better.

Anyway. I did promise Helen that once I hit 75 pounds I would get my kids to take a new picture and then I would grit my teeth and post the before and 75 pounds after photo. That should be in a couple of weeks. I need to find out if there is a way to keep those nasty pictures from hitting that random slot.

Tomorrow I'm going in for blood work. My curiosity has gotten the best of me and I want to see the changes raw has made. I should get those results back in about two weeks, so I'll post them together.

As for the liver cleanse Solar Living, here's the link:http://www.curezone.com/cleanse/liver/huldas_recipe.asp

Again, thanks for all the kind words and to everyone on the forum. I may not have made it this far if I didn't have this forum to come to and keep inspired.
