The large sum of money which was owed me last month has still not shown up.

The bills are stacking up on the table... little things like Electric (cold winter), Phone... fridge starting to look a little empty.

I can, and I will - NOT PANIC.

I can, and I will - STAY FOCUSED.

I can, and I will - MAKE IT THROUGH.

On Thursday, I sing for the Faculty for my end of term Juries. I'll be opening with a darling little German aria by Mozart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ-dvF9dygw). (Yes, I'm being sarcastic... it's not little, though it is darling. ;) )

On Saturday/Sunday I have Dress Rehearsal + Concert... paying gig. Need to put my best foot (or, vocal chord, I suppose) forward!

On Monday, Finals start... I have only 4 written Exams this year, since 3 classes were performances only and are over now, fortunately!

I feel... oddly calm, oddly resilient, oddly unaffected by the Stress I SHOULD be feeling over this scary financial situation.

RAW is my Mainstay... and yes, everyone - it can be the same for you.

Stick to it.

Let Life come at you, but if you're nourishing yourself wholly, you CAN and you WILL succeed, overcome, triumph, move forward, grow, heal and discover what more Life has to offer.

Actually, you "shouldn't". Doesn't do any good. You're trusting in the process. Trust in the universe is our birthright. The other stuff? We made it up. Good on ya!

theres GIGANTIC amounts of improvement possible in our lives .
currently your not exactly where you want to be at ,
so with the theme of attempting to grow into greater control
of your existance tweek a few things amongst your habits and mind set .
maybe a little tweek brings about a great growth spurt

Want to. Open to learning WHAT to tweak, WHERE.

God is great, God is good, and I've never starved not in many years of high ups and low downs. ;)

I know it will be the same this go-round. It's my 3rd Lay-Off this year... I'm no stranger to financial woes.

But I'd sure like to be.

;)

Watching "THE SECRET" tonight and also "7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE".... the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, so I KNOW it's time to CHANGE some things!!!!

Thanks, Rawbies... it helps me process to be able to share here.

- ever do any yoga , it relieves tension

- if you watch tv and listen to radio ide try omitting them as they both emit alot of unnatural images / sounds which to me can fill some peoples minds with alot of useless clutter making it more difficult to clearly / deeply think

- running or biking is great to blow off steam

I don't own TV, but I do enjoy watching a few shows selectively on Netflix/Hulu.com...

I do agree that you are right - there is much that is UNNATURAL, UNHEALTHY on TV... which is why my parents NEVER owned it when I was a child (thank you, Mum and Poppa) and why I've never bothered to waste my $$ buying one, either.

Have tried Yoga a few times... it seems to cause alot of pain in my joints. I'm going to give myself more time on 100% RAW and see if I can heal some of the joint/muscular issues I've had for years and then give it another shot.

What DOES relax me is Music... Singing... the two Concerts I performed in yesterday were only stressful before I stepped onstage. As soon as I was up there, I felt happy - in my element.

Music is AWESOME.

HI Green Woman!!! :)

I have a great idea, you may like it!! Since you like to write and sing. How about writing a song for yourself about financial situation is no longer a situation. And I learned from the past that singing and music can be a very powerful tool when the right words are chosen to achieve positive results, vibration, and frequencies into our lives. I think this idea will be very helpful as far as attracting miracles and good things.

I'm recently reading about this and it reminded me once again that I have experienced good things from positive singing in the past.

Yesterday, I was full of all kinds of wonderful songs. It really impact the way I felt deeply on all levels! Every part of me just felt so much joy. It's pretty intense! I was so hyper from the joy of praising that my feet can just jump up and down on their own like a kid would! I'm not over exaggerating, just so you know!! The power of praise is a very powerful tool. I've been reading about it lately. Anyways, I hope you get what I'm saying!

It is really nice to not feel the stress anymore, I love raw food!!

psssht! Of course you'll make it, and the great thing is you'll be a stronger and wiser person for having made it!

Take care! Let us know how it all turns out. Got any video footage of you singing? That'd be ace!

BREAK A LEG GW!

Thank you everyone... it has really helped my inner pressure stay equalized all week not only to have this thread to "vent" and your warm, loving advise... but also a few positive things have been happening in the midst of the "turmoil" of Life.

First, can't remember if I shared but.... I've been hired to write (for pennies, but that's not the point) a regular column on RAW FOODS in my City!!!

Second, an article I wrote earlier this year on the LEED Construction system has just been published in a notable Green publication here, as well! I will get PAID - and it's thrilling to see my name in print on stands for sale, again!

Third, tomorrow is JURIES... I will open with a Mozart aria and after that, nothing matters because all I NEED to do is "pass" and I have absolute confidence that I will... and that I will be admitted for my 2nd Year as a Vocal Performance Major. :D

So yes... court cases and lawsuits, losses and unemployment, uncertainty and adventure are all whirling around me.... but there is also the strong scent of HOPE on the air!

I embrace THE HOPE... let all the Other fall away -- I am determined, I am resolute, I am RAW! :D

This might sound weird but have you considered singing on the street for tips? I knew musicians and street performers in Seattle who made good money doing this ($75 on a bad day, $150 and up on good days and they weren't full days).

The key is to pick good locations like touristy places or upscale shopping centers. Check with your city muncipal offices to see if you need a street performer permit. They are usually free or very inexpensive and just require you showing id and filling out a form.

Also, what about making raw crackers and other goodies and selling them here and on other raw sites and on ebay? I've bought flax crackers from people here who made them at home and sold them. You could also sell them to local health food stores.

There are lots of ways to make extra money. Some other ones include selling stuff on craigslist and ebay of course and also checking for free stuff on craigslist and freecycle.com (,org?) and reselling it.

Since you are a writer, have you checked into registering and bidding for freelance writing jobs on freelance.com, elance.com and other freelance sites? Also, craigslist has a writings gigs section.

I know someone who makes pretty good money making baked goods, mostly cookies, brownies and banana bread and taking it around to offices and selling them.

Keep the faith. The universe ALWAYS provides.

Blessings,

Audrey

There are lots of ways to make extra money.

Indeed, and you suggest some great ideas!!

My current dilemma is (fortunately) not that I can't find work but that I can't find the time in which to work! I am involved in a rigorous Music Programme that requires me to either be in Classes, or in Rehearsals, or in Performances or at home Studying for Classes/Rehearsals/Performances 7 days a week, from early morning to late evening.

Before, I was at least able to work a couple hours a night at the Office, but since I got laid off, those few hours have been replaced with increased work load since this is Finals/Final Performances month.

Now THIS I can try... Writing I can do because I can be writing at 3 am, if need be... :D

I do currently write/publish for income with a couple venues but had not yet heard of these two freelance sites! Definitely looking it over today.
