Some of you may know Raw Food Chef Elaina Love. Her teenage son Dominic was diagnosed with leukemia and is now being treated at Hippocrates Health Institute after traditional routes have failed. If you would like to donate to her fund though the Living Light Institute, see below.

I was at a raw meetup potluck last night. Dave the raw trucker made a plea for help and everyone dug into their pockets. The money raised at our meeting will go to sending them green algae and a bucket of some type of food medicine. (I didn't understand what it was but I think I heard Dave say Barley?) The goal of Dave and friends is to get 2,500 people to donate $5 to $20 each.

Dominic was pronounced "cured" by traditional methods (while living with his Father), but now the cancer has returned with a vengenance. His needs are urgent and immediate.

I use Elaina Love's pizza base recipe (it's wonderful) and some of her videos were the first ones I saw on the raw food diet on youtube. She has been an inspiration to me, I'll be donating!

So SAD!! I just read his story... so sickening that his dad had refused to raise him raw and basically let him grow up on SAD food... then forced him to do all the conventional medicine stuff... how different the story would have been if this boy had been raised eating raw his entire life as his mother wanted. I pray the stay at Hippocrates is life-changing for him (and maybe for his father and other non-raw side of the family, too).

One thing that concerned me was this part:

This program is very costly, starting at $20,000 for the first three weeks of expenses, so we at Living Light would like to invite you to participate in a fundraising effort for Elaina.
I've spoken with Hippocrates several times because I'm saving up for a stay there myself, and the three-week program ranges from $5,000 to $15,000 (depending on accommodations), not $20,000... I hope they're not giving her a "special inflated" price because she's famous in the raw community....??

I just got the Living Light update and it's just so heartbreaking I'm crying as I type this.

The doctors have given him a week to a month to live, I can't believe it!

I just donated, I feel SO BAD for both Dominic and Elaina, it must be an absolute nightmare to go through.

I'm thinking the extras charges are to do with doctors and professional medical staff required, plus Elaina and Dominic's travel expenses to the Institute.

If anyone can give anything, it would be great. I'm SO UPSET!

Day 9 at Hippocrates with Dominic. He is taking on all of the therapies and healing in a powerful way. This is the week he finds his strength...this is the week we kick leukemia's ass!!!!! I donated a space in my Church for a fundraiser Sunday before last. Chef Sam from Google (he used to work in Elaina's restaurant) demonstrated some amazing alkalizing recipes. There were about 20 people there - not sure how much money was raised.

It is a beautiful thing to see people come together in Love this way!

Dom in hospital with 103 fever and drugged up on pain meds, we are praying we can get him out of here before Christmas. I spoke with Dr. Robert O. Young today and am excited about the program he prescribes. I really think he can help Dom get his health back! I'm expecting a Christmas miracle.

"We are spending Dominic's last days at the George Mark Children's Center in San Leandro. He is done fighting and is peaceful and not in pain. He is a beautiful angel who came to be with us for a short, joyous journey and I am cherishing every moment I have with him. Teacher, friend, healer."

Dominic Angelo left his earthly body today. He passed peacefully and with dignity. I shared his last conscious moments with him at 3am when he got up to get his backpack to tell me he was going on a trip. He hugged me and my sister and niece for a long while, then layed back down and never woke up again until the end to let go of his last breath at 3:23 pm January 5th.

I feel so bad I did not know anything about this. I was under the impression that he was living with her and enjoying raw foods. I was just watching her live food video and she mentioned him several times on it. She was one of the very first people that I learned from and enjoyed her recipes and videos. I am so sad. That is so cool that he was getting up to get his backpack to go on a trip - to me, he is walking with God. I was with my dad as he passed from cancer; he was unable to talk but at the end he did seem to want to get up and was reaching out alot - I took that as a spiritual sign. I am just so sad for her loss. She will have alot of good memories to think about him and I hope those will bring her comfort and joy.
