okay i just learned something... HUGE. some people don't peel mangos. this is a gift for me... cause i soooo dislike peeling those babies. so i thought we could all share some foods that other people peel and we don't.
i don't peel:
persimmons
kumquats or other oranges with thin skins
i'm not wondering if i need to peel papayas anymore? anyone know?

I LOVE persimmons with their skin. yummmm. I'll have to try mangoes with skin, because I don't like trying to peel them either! :D

Who in there right mind would peel a persimmon? Probably the same type of person that peels an apple.
Aleesha, how do kiwis taste dehydrated? I've never had em before, and when they're in season I can get pretty sweet deals on em but never know how to store em. Texture? Skin?

I do peel mangoes, kiwi and papaya. I don't peel apples, persimmons or grapes.
I may try kiwi and magoes w/out peeling because I really like mangoes and don't eat them often because I dislike peeling. Whoulda thunk?

Hmmm I peel mangoes evn for smootheis and especially for my salsa, might lighten up though.
I have a friend who grew up in Senegal and she purposfully eats mangoes outside with the skin on, but doesn't eat the skin. She uses the skin and whatever flesh is inside to rub on her face and body for a mask. the sits in the sun a while, maybe an hour or so, then she bathes.
Spa and lunch rolled in one.
I never peel apples or grapes or kiwi

A lot of the fruits we're talking about are heavily sprayed, even irradiated if not organic. So, I wouldn't eat a conventionally grown mango skin.
Anyone not peel avocadoes?=)

This sounds wonderful! Mango skin!
I just did a bit of research on it and it sounds relatively safe, but is related to poison oak/ivy and some people might have a reaction to it....

OMGoodness, I probably eat 2-3 mangos a day between the fresh ones, mango pudding and the dried ones.
I NEVER knew that about the peels being edible... sweet!!! GOTTA try that.
