Dr. Brian Clement from Hippocrates says that we need to take a B12 supplement that is in the bacterial form. Apparently most B12 supplement s are not bacterial form. He recommends Life Give brand. Dr, Gabriel Cousens recommends a supplement but doesn't specify a brand. My question is what d you think about the quality and source of a B12 supplement? Does it matter? Because the Life Give pills are not cheap.

thanks!

I am on my way to buy the one that goes under your tongue and starts with Meth - not Sino!

the b12 thing still remains foggy

but ive determined to suppliment it because of too many smart vegans ive read say to , its like a small risk its a negative to supp . versus a larger risk if you dont

and the bacteria type 12 statement ive never heard before so no opinion

all i can say is that i vary brands in case one isnt good

and the methylcobalin types said to be the correct one by the vegans i most respects opinions

from reading vegans whose opinions i respect and self trial ive come to mainly use

JARROW BRAND - METHYL B12

i also use the NOW brand vegetarian formula methyl type as ive come to see that company as honest over time

I also use Jarrow brand (http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Methyl-B-12-5000-mcg-60-Lozenges/117?at=0), as it's what my Holistic MD recommends.

I linked to the 5000mcg that I take - I'm not recommending a dosage, it's just the dosage he has me on for other reasons. *Ü*

You can buy the shots at the pharmacy cheap. No prescription needed. It works. I was deficient and bought several pill forms that did nothing.

Dr. Clement claims the shots work only in the short term and that s why people get addicted to them. A lot of famous musical performers routinely request a B-12 shot before going on stage.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Because the Life Give pills are not cheap. The one Brian Clement sells is derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Interestingly enough once word got out about what it's made out of, that has disappeared from the website labels (and possibly product one too) of all the sources that sell his version and the company that manufacturers it. Probably because it's so overpriced when really you can find it much cheaper and he claims that he's the only one to carry it. What backs up this theory is Garden Of Life now carries a raw B12 where the primary ingredient is Saccharomyces boulardii, a subspecies of S. Cerevisiae. You can choose to use soil based micro organisms (SBOs) by using probiotic formulas that include this. I've always found probiotics to be very useful in strengthening the immune system and many others use it for various health issues. Just be sure to get an organic, non-dairy formula. Or you can get Garden Of Life's version which is inexpensive, raw and organic. They also have several probiotic formulas, though not all have that ingredient. Their raw multuvitamins also have the B12 in it.

Your welcome. :) What's great is that it can be found in every health stores and on-line store. Vitamin D3 is also found in S. Cerevisiae, among other nutrients. If you look at the vegan D3's many will show this. Also you will see other vegan formulas use S. Cerevisiae. Probiotics are one of the best supplements to use regularly. Instead of buying everything separately you can narrow supplements down to just a couple.
