I am dong the green smoothies, but I am feeling tired after a little bit of drinking them.
The first few I had gave me alot of energy. Lately though I have been feeling so exhausted.
Is it any connection to the green smoothies or just coincidence?

veggeeemom,
My good hubby saw your post and immediately said"what else is she eating". I get really tired and he says I am not eating enough. Are you eating enough during the day to sustain you?
Hope you start getting more energy soon,, so hard to be a busy mommy and tired.
Jamie :)

when I get this tired feeling, it usually means detox!

... another possibility is you are drinking the same ones everyday which might mean a sensitivity to one particular food. You've not given enough information so all we can do is guess. Hmmm. Well, even if you give more information, we'll all probably guess.
Sooo, what is it you are putting in the smoothies? What else are you eating? Nuts? Seeds? Sprouts? Variations on the smoothies?

I wonder what's causing that. What do you put in your drinks? Food combining may help if you're not doing so already. From my experience, when foods are improperly combined they can tax my digestive system and cause tiredness.

I've been doing chard or spinach with bananas, strawberries or blueberries.
I am eating nuts and seeds, salads, fruits, veggies, celery w/ ravoli cheese in it, watermelon, bananas, mushrooms, bell peppers, live gardenburger, baby cucmumbers, scallions. I
've only been doing the green smoothies for about a week, but I've noticed the last two times I've only done the smoothie and gone on about my day and don't eat alot of times until 2-3 pm. When I do my smoothies around 9:30-10 am I felt really grumpy and short and really tired. The last time I did a smoothie, I ate shortly after drinking it and felt so much better. Strange. I noted that in my journal so I could see why this is happening.
I notice that once I eat I feel so much better. Don't know why that would be since a smoothie is just blended food.
Anyways, probably will just have to play around with the smoothie combos and try it w/o eating after again and see how it effects me.

One thing I have learned about tiredness is that oftentimes when the body has to dispell a lot of energy into diegesting, we get tired, i.e. getting sleepy after eating a large Thanksgiving-type (cooked) meal.
Our bodies also get tired when healing is taking place because our bodies do all of the healing and regenerating when we are asleep or resting.
So, your body could either be really heavy into digestion mode or some major healing is taking place within that is causing you to feel tired, as though the body is saying, "Hey, you need to rest so I can get to work!"
And yes, it could be what you're combining. I notice that as of late, with certain combinations in my green smoothies, my "gag-reflex" starts to kick in after a few sips. I don't know if it's because my stuff is inorganic and my body is rejecting the pesticides or if it's the combinations I've been using (since I use everything but the kitchen sink - so to speak). The smoothies TASTE great, but my throat begins to seeming want to make it come back up.
So, I'm gonna do some less-complicated combos and see if that makes the difference!
