Hello everyone: I'm hoping someone can give me some help with this question: About two weeks ago I noticed a tenderness in my hip, when I took a look there was a large bruise (can't remember what I may have run into) it was tender for a time, but I also noticed a swelling (feels like a swollen lymph node). I think the swelling has gone down some and the pain is no more, but to tell you the truth, having a swollen lymph node freaks me out. What would your take be on the lympth node-not my freaking out! HA! I have been about 90% raw during the week and a bad girl on the weekends-so I know my diet needs to improve and doing so would only improve the situation so I am comitting to 100% raw this week beginning with a juice fast today. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks and have a great Monday!!

Rawmom,
The most common cause of swollen lymph nodes is infection. Soreness in lymph glands usually disappears in a couple of days without treatment, but the nodes may not return to normal size for several weeks after the infection has cleared. Generally, if glands are painful, it is because they swell rapidly in the early stages of fighting an infection. It should clear up in a few days. If your glands dont get smaller after several weeks or continue to get larger, then I suggest seeing a professional.

Thanks Nurtimom. I am hopeful it will return to normal size since the tenderness has already subsided. I will give it a few weeks and see how we do. Thanks again.

Drink lots of lemon water. It's detoxing and lemon is also an antiseptic. Another thing that has worked tremendously for me is Colloidal Silver. It acts as a back-up immune system and kills bacterial and viral infections within 4 minutes. I started getting a bladder infection last weekend and took some, and the next day I was fine. <phew>
