Hello everybody! :)
My name is Aida Mai, im 19 and from denmark, copenhagen.

I have always always been curious in selfhealing, yoga and food.
Im not raw at the moment but im planning on it.
Its going to be hard, mainly because i dont live alone.. and i dont have the best economy. but i will do my best.

i just have a few questions!

1: i dont want to loose weight! is that going to happen no matter what?
I still want my woman curves ;) , and also for the women, did your breast become more firm? smaller? more saggy because of the weight loss?

2: does it make a difference if im not 100% raw? ex if i eat raw for breakfast and lunch but eat something like oven made salmon or brown rice or something for dinner? i just want to know if the last 20% will make a difference or if i can be just as healthy?

3: what about hair? my hair hasnt grown in a very long time :( .. im stressed out, dont eat healthy (i barely eat and only drink one glass water). my appetite is almosy nonexsistant.. anyways. alot of people are talking about hair loss, and needless to say i DONT want that to happen!!

Any more advice is app!! Thanks in advance!

im so so so excited!! my brother keeps calling me a hippie  but i dont care.. i hope it will go so well that he will want to join!

Hej Aida Mai,

Just stopping by to say "goddag og velkommen".

The best answer I can give is yes, anything you can do is better thank nothing at all. Take it slowly, do what you can with what you've got.

We went shopping in Aarhus and there were quite a few places to purchase raw, organic groceries so I'm fairly sure you'll find good eats there in København.

thank you :)

do you know the answers on any of those questions?
what have you experienced since going raw?
cons, pros?

er du dansker?

No, I'm not Danish. My husband Bo is. He's from Aarhus.

Each person responds differently to raw. For me, I've still got my breasts and they're large; I did lose weight yet gained back. This may or may not help with hair growth. You "may" find yourself losing it at first. Others here recommend using msm to help with hair/nail growth.

My experiences will most likely different thank yours as will everyone depending on what you have available to eat; what you're otherwise eating/drinking; how much of whatever it is you eat ~ greens, veggies, fruit... no one can give you specific answers as to what will happen for you.

Suggestion ~ check out the blogs. People write what they eat and their experiences there.

Enjoy!

thank you :)

ide give every cent i have to go back to age 19 and become a rawfood vegan

rawfoodist for health , its undeniably obvious its best .
tell brother hes naive if he doesnt see that , look at how fat
/ weak / diseased modern man is . maybe it could be the stupid cooked
food diet !!!!!!!!!!!!

veganism because its what a higher life form exists as . imagine if you
were existing in an eternal body state , in complete eternal control of the state of your body . and able to travel the universe from galaxy to galaxy like you now walk from store to store . do you think a more brightly burning and aware being such as that would exist as a vicious little predator hunting things and putting them in cages = NO WAY

so i believe we reincarnate body after body til we master the physical laws of the universe and thusly attain said eternal body state , to that end im working now by developing the habits / instincts / soul roots that get me to that state

STICK TO THIS DIET . EVEN IF LIKE YOU SAY YOUVE GOT TO ADD SOME COOKED VEGAN STUFF

steamed vegi / vegi or bean soups / dry beans and brown rice are my highest rated cooked cheats . oh oats arent terrible either imo

welcome to site :)

ps - im no authority or anything , im just a self taught 15 year vegan expressing my own opinions / philosophy

thank you so much!!

im looking forward to this very much so..
my body is going to thank me for it..
there was a time where i ran for an hour everyday (i was about 16)
and i felt so so so good just from that, totally different way of thinking, no mood swings, skin glow etc etc..

so i could only imagine how great it will be doing that AND being raw :p

im very excited.. hope it will work out

do any of you have cravings sometimes?

cravings all the time first 2 years , drank non raw green tea to help supress appetite . lemon squeezed in water helps too

i run / bike / lift , and i found after going raw a few months with all the old diet of cooked vegan stuff like dry beans / brown rice / boiled potato / whole wheat bread outta my guts they felt as light as a feather . when runnimng i became a heart proppeling two legs and arms controled by a brain = way faster with greater endurance without the heavy cooked food belly fat

quitting salt helped my endurance also . i get salt kick by adding giant amounts chopped fresh garlic cloves to my vinegar and oil salad dressing

I didn't lose my hair, in fact it has become so much better than it ever was-even in childhood. It now hangs in shiny ringlets, instead of frizzy mats. The nutrients of raw food aren't totally to blame, though. I stopped using shampoo! I usually just rinse it with water, sometimes natural soap bar if it is stinky from being around smoke or something. I very occasionally use a tiny amount of coconut oil on it for conditioning. There are a lot of threads on this board about hair.

My breasts stayed the same, despite weight loss. They say that your skin is your third kidney, meaning that it is an important eliminatory organ--and you'll probably find that your breasts will be firmer as a result of better skin--especially at 19. Alas, breasts, like any other physical characteristic are largely hereditary--so it's better to ask your Mom and Grandmas than us=)

There is a huge difference in 100% raw, to me. Try going 100% raw for a month and judge for yourself=)>

im raw 4 years and i still crave my old cooked vegan stuff

for me its a constant work to not go to alot of cooked vegan stuff

BUT , i believe in rawfoods TOTALLY . and see my old cooked food ways
as a bad addiction like smoking etc

and like i was saying earlier i believe in reincarnation and that we are making ourselves / working on our soul roots / instincts that are responsible for how long its gonna take us to attain an eternal body state . so i'll be damned if i'll give in and go backwards , m not counting on any god thing to make me eternal / perfect . ive got to keep working at it myself , every day / every body span til i get there . and from my current state of awareness ive whole heartedly come to believe in rawfood veganism as the way to fuel the existance of a bodies perfect cell structure . so with that outlook in mind im armed to fend off what ive determined to be ill healthful cravings

HOW HEATED PLANT MATTER BECAME HUMAN HABIT

several thousand years ago or whenever . humans were like simple animals just surviving . cold came , before fire they froze . nite came , before fire wolves / lions / etc snuck into camp and killed them for food . then people started harnessing fire . cold came they survived off the fires heat . nite came the fire scared away the predators . bottom line = FIRE WAS GOD

fire was gigantically important to survival . then with fire came heating plants , no doubt the aromas fueled appetites . and everything that came with fire except burns was good . so heated plant matter became huge habit .
big mistake . a species can only survive for so long on the de vitalized heated plants , sooner or later their blood line / gene pools weaken and weaken til their off spring are born too weak to survive . watch today as the off spring of heated foodist walk the earth as weak flabby diseased people because of still foolishly living on the obviously wrong diet because of lost leadership

I have found that if I stick to raw that my breast dont feel as full, they feel lighter. Which I like!

I agree about the exercising too. After starting the raw lifestyle, I began the Couch to 5K program. I have tried it in years past when I was not eating raw and I did not have the energy or the want to run. Now that I am eating more raw foods, I find that I have a lot more energy, drive, and the will to try this program again. I am actually on Week 4 and I have never in the past got passed week 1 day 1, so I am doing great on it. And my husband is proud of me for it.

My hair seems fuller. It also seems to have grown a bit faster. I have only been eating raw for about two months now. I want to try the MSM, I am going to have to look for that at my Whole Foods store!

I am going to make an appt with Eva (she is a member on this board) for her to show me how to use the dehydrator and make yummy chips, crackers, bread and hamburgers. I can not wait!!!!!

Good luck.

Hi

First time on this forum. I'm from Ontario, Canada and am tired of being sick and overweight. I've battled weight all my life and as a result have several health problems. From what I've read I think this lifestyle can help me. I just bought a juicer and am awaiting arrival of my dehydrator. I've only been juicing for 2 days and seem to feel better already. Is it my imagination? I hope not. I have about 85 pounds to lose and am ready to regain my health!!!

do any of you know a cheap place?
It seems cheaper online, but the shipping is expensive, i live in denmark.

is there a substitute to the vitamix that is cheaper and just as good?

i dont need a expensive blender . i just have a cheap one i bought for like 20 on sale . i just use them to grind seeds / nuts , ecspecially almonds for almond milk / banana smoothie . other than that i dont make the big smoothies with alot of greens and fruit that take a powerful blender to blend up really good because i get my greens in salads every night , and my fruit on its own with nuts as a meal like lunch . and i wouldnt want to ruin the taste of a good peice of fruit by mixing it with greens . and same with mixing my greenswith fruit when i love them in a salad

ide just get a cheap one . if want show me your options and i'll reply because ive read 4 years of raw foodists opinions on blenders so have a little education on them , and ive looked at everyone on earth at my local stores
