I didn't know where to post this, so it might need to be moved.
I have been raw for 18 months now, and have lost a total of 70+ pounds. I have gone from a size 16 to a size 7.
I work at my gym in the Child Care department (I have for 13 years now) and I work out 5 days a week.
My boss ask me last week if I'd like to be in a commercial for the gym (it will show locally). I will have to submit 3 full length photos of before, and I will have to speak for only a few seconds.
People that didn't know me when I weighed 225 are going to see this.
Part of me wants to do it, but the other says don't.
Would you or wouldn't you?

I would go for it. Be proud of what you did and plug raw food as well as the gym while you are at it.;)

Think of it as a wonderful opportunity to share about RAW Foods with folks who might otherwise not hear about the "diet"! :D
I would do it. But I'm in constant public exposure as an actress/singer/activist so it's second nature to me to jump on it.
If you only get a few seconds, make sure you rehearse a teensy Script beforehand and bring notecards with you. :D

I wouldn't, unless it was very attractive $$$$ involved.
If it a volunteer thing, no.
I gained weight about 6 or so years ago, now it's gone. No one needs to know about that epoch as far as I'm concerned!
But for $$$ eery time the commercial is aired, I could do it.

It a commercial for the gym, I really doubt they want her to associate her "after" photo with anything besides the gym!

Then ask. And if they let you share about the Food, then do. ;)
Personally speaking - I would do it. I don't hesitate to tell people that I used to weigh over 270 pounds. It's a hoot! *Ü*

I always had a fabulous figure, so those 6 lost years - no one needs to know about, lol! And I was not obese, just chubby and not fabulous.
I'm vain, what can say? I want to maintain my image!:p

congrats on the wt loss!! If you feel uncomfortable then politely say no. I understand why you're hesitant. People see you now, to you, that older person is gone & it's hard to see that person when we've left them. I was the same way.
agree with them letting you state it wasn't all the exercise & post some recipes..this may be a lead for you to be a life coach! if it's something you'd like to do. you have to do what you feel is good for you.

are you a shy person? cause if you are this may not be what you want to do. lots of people will be coming up to you and congratulating you on your weight release AND asking you how you did it.
if you are comfy with that... then go for it!

As a rather shy person myself I say go for it. I can see nothing but good coming from it.
This is so interesting reading all the different replies! Great points made by all. *Ü*

Do it!!!!! You will have many people look at how amazing you are, and you can tell them your story. You are the Jesus of raw food. Create disciples. Use this as an opportunity to spread truth.

I'm doing it. Some days I want to and other days I think I am crazy. But I already told them I would. It is taking place on December 18th at noon. Wish me luck! :o This is soooo out of my comfort zone.

So how did it go? Include a link, if you are comfortable, so we can see too!

I'm sorry, I made a mistake and put the 11th - I meant the 18th. :o

yeah, make SURE they dont try to attribute all your weight loss to the gym though! make sure they let you plug raw too! we all know its NOT just the gym that did it! and people seeing the commercial need to know that too!

I wish I could. I did have her change it because she originally wanted me to say that I made dietary changes recommended by the personal trainers - I said that they never did, and people that know me know that I eat raw. So, she did take that out. I only get a few seconds to speak so it's gonna be quick.
