I have had to go to the hospital because my breath was short and my heart rate was was not stable. When I arrived at the hospital I was given oxygen and they did a EKG. I ended up standing in the hospital for the entire day and into the first night. I was tested I had to wear a monitor and blood was drawn several times. I was placed on a monitered floor and watched. Nothing was found wrong with my heart, thank God and I was released. Now my legs are tingling and I am having spells of lightheadness and an all over sick feeling. I had none of these symptoms before going raw.
I can handle them but would love to know if these are signs of detox or something more?
I went to a health food store and purchased some liquid herbs for leg circulation problems and it seems to help. If this is detoxing then I'm fine with it.
Has anyone else gone through something similiar?

maybe your current symptoms are as a result of your visit to the hospital. Did you go for a long period without food

Detox cannot be underestimated. Its very severe at times, depending on how much junk and feces are in your system and need to be cleaned out. What are you eating? Are you eating 100% raw? If so, perhaps you should add some steamed veggies with some cooked rice. Are you eating junk food? This will make things worse. What are you eating?

It sounds like an extreme detox and I would reccommend cutting back the rawness. Then slowly add it back. Make sure the non raw is just vegetables so your detox can continue. When I was fasting I had irregular heartbeats, shallow breathing, dizziness, hot flashes, ect.

you know what they say... "what makes you sick on the way in, makes you sick on the way out" :p
just like when a smoker quits smoking... there may be a period of "clean up" in the lungs that can be very unpleasant.
steamed veg's, or transitional foods can slow the detox down to a less harsh more manageable state - til you get to raw.
I suppose it all depends on how your diet and state of health was before raw. People transition from all types of diets... vegan, organic diets all the way to meat, dairy, deep-fried, high pharmaceutical, etc. type diets.
I think you can go raw under someone's supervision perhaps - just an idea...
good luck to you ~ ;)

Blessed,
I am so sorry to hear of your hospital visit...That must have been so scary! I just hate things like this...
Wow, if that is detox that is pretty bad!! I hope you are feeling better. Take it easy til you feel better.
HOw old are you?
I had this virus that attacked my nervous system a few years ago( I was probably 29) One night I was so bad(had symptoms just like MS) I actually fainted and then felt like I was going to have a heart attack. My poor husband was sooooooooooooooo scared he rushed me to the hospital.. we were terrified. thought I was going to die!!! Luckily I was just fine. It took about 5 months for this virus to pass..Praise God it was only a virus.
Anyways, that has nothing to do with your situation, but I understand how scary it can be..
I will pray for you, blessed.
Jamie :)

Thank you everyone for your responses.
I am feeling much better now. When the sick feeling comes over me I take 2 baby aspirin and it helps. Now the problem seems to be in my legs so I try not to put too much pressure on them until they become stronger.
What is so funny is that I never had any problems until I decided to eat more raw foods. I am thinking that it may be my body trying to right the wrongs that I have done to it in the past and that's great.
It was nice to know that I was not the only one going to the hospital and my husband being almost scared to death.
Again I can't think my friends enough for all your wonderful e-mails, this is a GREAT FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, I forgot I am 55 years young and I am eating around 75% raw. I don't steam or boil any of my veggies non fry anything.

Shirley,
I"m so glad that you are feeling better.....Keep up the great job of 75% raw!!!I agree,, this is a great board for info and encouragement!

Shirley, are you keeping your blood sugar levels fairly even? If you place too much emphasis on fruit in your diet, it can lead to uneven blood sugar levels and this can make one feel lightheaded and nauseous.
