I am so excited, I just received my new Vita-Mix (Professional Series) and I keep making smoothies! Yum!

Only problem, for some reason the recipe book didn't come with it so while I wait on that I don't know how to make the following treats that I was so looking forward to! Any help would be most appreciated and any other recipe ideas that work well with this type of blender would also be welcome!

Nut butters-do I add some water or oil when blending and how many nuts to liquid would I use?

Banana ice cream-again do I add some water to the frozen bananas?

Soups-any soup ideas would be great, I will search previous posts also but in my old blender I didn't like any of the soups I tried and imagine being able to blend them better now I might actually like some of them!

Nut pates-can I blend these in the Vita-Mix or should I continue using my food processor (which does a great job anyway!).

Thank you!

For the ice cream -try not to add anything -perhaps a sweetner if you so desire, but mine whips it very well.

When I make nut butters, I use 1/4 cup -1/2 cup of oil for a pound of nuts, and I drizzle it slowly.

I love it for soup - there is a tomato soup here and I make veggie soup and mushroom soup, just by putting everything there and letting it whiz. It will warm it, so be careful you do not do it too long.

For me the vita mixer makes great baby food - that is what my hubby says when I attempted a nut pate in there and that was not a compliment  use the f.p. for best results

The rule of thumb for my Vita Mixer is use it for anything you want particulary smooth - like cheese cake recipes, or soup, and even salad dressings

Thank you so much Sweet lips, just what I was wondering.

I did make the tomato soup today that Flutterfly had posted and my it was wonderful! And tonight I will make banana ice cream, a fun day of experimenting with my new toy.

And perfect rule of thumb, using it for anything I want really smooth. That is sure what it did to my soup, so smooth and creamy it was just delicious!
