Hi, I was wondering if any of you could advise me on something.

Recently (in the last month) I've been feeling sick a lot, usually in the hours after I wake up, whether I have eaten or not. I've no idea what's going on but I do know that I would like a raw food to settle my stomach in the mornings so I don't feel so crappy. Usually I just have a banana for breakfast, with a glass of water. But can anyone recommend something more substantial that'll give me energy and keep the sick feelings away? Thanks!

Just a thought... my first thought was, "Are you possibly pregant?" but I have no idea how old you are or even what your gender is. :) So it's a random thought...

Hi, no I'm not pregnant :) I did post that as an aside originally but then took it out...

More information would help. How long this as been going on... what were you eating previously... are you raw and what does that mean to you? What do you eat before going to bed if anything? How much water do you drink? What does "sick a lot" mean? Are you on any medications? Are you under a doctor's care? If so, for what?

If you were my client, that's just a very few of the questions I'd be asking.

It's been going on for around a month now.. same thing happened last year for a couple of months when I was in school but then it randomly went away.

Currently not raw but I'm trying to incorporate as much raw as I can afford into my diet (usually raw breakfast and lunch).

I eat a lot of crap before going to bed a lot of the time, like whatever's laying around.

I drink maybe 2 pints of water a day. Not enough, I know.

Sick a lot means I feel like I could puke, maybe for a few hours each day.

I'm on iron supplements, but have been for 6 years, so I don't blame them for the sickness.

O.k., this is what you do and instead of stopping eating the "crap and whatever's laying around" you want one raw food to stop you from being sick?

Now, if this was your best friend telling you this, what would you tell him or her?

Sorry I guess I should have specified, since I don't always eat crap, sometimes I eat just salad or something before I sleep, I don't think I would honestly see a connection.

My eating habits have been consistent over the years and this has only been a problem recently so I don't really think the way I eat the previous night has much to do with how I feel sick the next morning.

And smokers don't see the connection when they recently have gotten lung cancer when they'd been smoking all that time and they don't see why they cough in the morning even though they didn't have a cigarette the night before.

It's simple. You eat crap, you feel crappy. Your first post tells it like it is. Natural healing is not like taking a pill and your symptoms disappear. Just as your journey got you to where you are, it'll be a journey to undo what you've done.

Amii, I reckon that you are feeling sick in the mornings because of what you eat the night before. Maybe you could handle it at one stage, but because you are increasing the raw component, you can't handle the cooked component as much - especially if it's processed/junk food. Also it may depend on how close to bedtime you eat. Maybe allow three hours between your last meal and when you go to sleep. If you are very hungry at night, try to eat more during the day. If I eat cooked food before bed I feel like I have a hangover the next morning.

The only time I ever feel nauseous (aside from flu/etc.) is when I'm dehydrated. I'd start drinking more water (while you're simultaneously cutting out the 'crap' from your diet).
