Hello I am new here. I was looking for some advice about a fast. I am in the process of transitioning to a raw diet. i have been about 75% raw for 5 months. In that time I have done two 7 day juice fast (mostly green juice).

For my new fast I want to do 3 weeks of all raw food, with a 7 day juice fast in the second week.

My question is this....

During my 7 day juice fast I was thinking about doing a water fast for 3 of the days, perhaps days 4,5,and 6 of the juice fast. Do you guys think this is advisable? Is three days of water fast too much or too little? Basically my goal is detoxification. I would like my digestion to rest completely for awhile which is why I want to add the water fast. I have no health problems, and am not overweight at all.

Thanks for all your help, and I am glad I found this place.

cheers,
Tim

I'd start with water and then do juice... cause breaking a water fast needs more transition... so doing one of juice after isn't something i would recommend.

also water will shut down your hunger faster... so it's a win/win starting with water.

otherwise... sounds like a great plan to me!

So,

1 week of 100% raw food
3 days of water fasting
4 days of juice fasting
1 week of 100% raw food

sound ok?

Thanks Aleesha for your quick response.

I forgot to mention... One thing I am doing during the two raw food weeks is eating only from 8am to 12:30 pm. So in essence I am doing a 19.5 hr fast everyday that I am eating raw. I got this idea from one of Gabriel Cousens books.

The diet looks like this....

morning:
Green Smoothie (kale, spinach, pea green sprouts, spirulina, water, fresh orange juice, kelp, dulse, juice from one lemon, banana, apple, flax seeds)

raw granola (homemade) w/ raw vanilla almond milk

lunch: Big salad, with romaine, spinach, tomato, avocado, sunflower greens, soaked sunflower seeds,

dinner: green juice (no pulp), kale, red swiss chard, purple kale, spinach, purple cabbage, celery cucumber, carrot, tomato, apple, parsley, lemon

WATER: I drink lots of water about 30 minutes before meals, I distill my water at home, and then I remineralize by adding celtic salt and concentrace minerals, and a blade of wild grass. Then I pray over the water chanting the ancient name of God that Dr.Cousens suggests (Vav-Mem-Bet) while stirring hard in each direction. I set it out under the moonlight before I collect it in the morning.

Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

sounds great except when you are breaking your week long fast, take a couple of days of easy to digest foods. even just green smoothies for a day would be beneficial. :)
