I hope everyone isn't getting tired of my sharing each major dietary challenge & accomplishment, but here I go again ....
today after church we went out to eat at Shoney's where they have a breakfast/lunch bar. Usually this would have been the breaking point ... BUT ... I kept thinking about Mary Anne's post on the side effects of being raw & left the restaraunt with a belly full of fresh fruit & a huge salad topped w/ raw sunflower seeds! I was amazed at my discipline. This really isn't as bad as I'd anticipated. I was still able to eat out with my family but instead of my focus being on food, it was on the conversation & quality of time I was able to spend with them. Thanks so much to everyone w/in this group!

That's beautiful! And the way it SHOULD be. It does take discipline and I realize it comes easier/sooner for some than others...but I'm so happy to hear of it occuring for you sooner rather than later. :)

Good morning all :p
I am in awe today! It's only 8:53am and besides laundry I am completely finished with my daily duties around the house ... I've even worked out in the yard some! This surplus of energy is incredible!!! I'm not hungry yet but I am already looking forward to my green seedless grapes for breakfast. Well, I think I will go take a walk while I wait for my next load of clothes to finish drying .... btw> this will be the first exercise I've done since before my hubby got home from Iraq back in late March! Something about eating raw has made me want to be closer to nature. Is that normal?

Awesome Veganwannabe!

I am so glad that you are having all of these wonderful feelings! I, too, feel much closer to nature! I love to see that raw is working and that you have so much more energy! Are you feeling tired by the end of the evening? Have a great day! Although, it already sounds like you are!

Hi VegganWannaBe,

NO! We never get tired of hearing success stories!!!!! Bring them on. Not only does it make us happy for you, but it inspires us to do the same!

I'm so glad you are now ready to add exercise to your raw eating. Isn't being out in nature just awsome???? I would love to have a sleep porch so I could sleep out at night. Maybe . . . someday . . . .

Hello Raw Jojo!
So far I haven't been tired at the end of the evening at all. On the contrary, I have had more energy in the evenings & don't fall asleep until about an hour later than I used to just 3 days ago ... crazy, huh?! Then I sleep like a baby and wake up incredibly rejuvenated! (earlier than I used to awaken) I am so glad that I made this committment ... who'd have thought life could be changed so wonderfully simply by changing the diet?! WOW!
Hi there Helen of Tennessee!
I just returned from my walk and must say .... I have got to make time to do it again EVERY day! I feel incredible!!! I have a tredmill, but if the weather permits I would much rather walk outside. I grew up in Florida & although I am enjoying the fact that Kentucky has seasons (we've only been here a little over a year) last winter was very rough on my motivation to get active ... however, I wasn't eating clean back then either. It was quite cold today but I still enjoyed every step.
What a great idea ... a sleep porch ... I know what I'll be adding to my "Honey Do" list!

Hey, it sounds like you're doing GREAT! I loved your story about Shoney's. Don't you just love the feeling of freedom that this way of eating gives you...the freedom to choose healthy, life-giving meals! And enjoy your friends and family. The freedom to leave a restaurant with a feeling of lightness and energy...not weighed down by horrible damaged fats and processed carbs.

Hi Smasty,
The same thing happened to me tonight. I took the kids bowling & while they scarfed on pizza & soda I sipped oj ... it really is an awesome feeling!
