Hey! :D

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how long they store their freshly made juice? Can I pour it in a bottle and store it or do I have to drink it right away?

Sometimes I just want to drink a simple glass of juice, but I don't because then I have to do a whole bunch of things .. you know? :p

So what do you guys do?

At the most I'd give it a week in the fridge. I've made fresh juices and kept them in there longer, but its either hit-or-miss.

I've heard "experts" say everything from 20 minutes to several days. I personally prefer to juice and drink a serving at a time (my juicer and Vitamix aren't that much of a pain to clean up), but occasionally I will juice up a batch of something and drink some of it throughout the day. (Last time I did that with kale in the Vitamix though, it had turned VERY dark within about 6 hours... made me think it had oxydized or lost nutrients or was starting to "turn," or something.)

If you pour it into a jar, all the way to the top and put the lid on, it will store for a few days. It will lose some of its nutrients, but still be good.

Cathy :)

If I refrigerate fresh juice I put it in a ball jar and draw a vacuum on it with one of the devices used for vacuum sealing bags. Our food saver has a hose and jar lid attachment, but we also have a zip-vac brand hand-held which works just as well with the same attachment. Removing the air should help slow the oxidation considerably.

Having said that, the juice is usually gone by the next day, or meal even. I've not juiced near as much as I used to since discovering the green smoothie.
