I make almond milk shakes, with almond milk dates, cinnamon and spices, it is soooooo good.
I used to make these with 1 cup almond milk and 5 dates, as I liked them very sweet, well this lunch I made my regular nutmilkshake and it was way too sweet, so I added another cup of almond milk, still too sweet, so another 1/2 cup and it was perfect.
So, my tastes they are a changing once again, I love sweet foods, which Victoria Boutenko says is a calcium need, and she did the same thing, she used to add a lot of dates, and then started adding less and less.
So, although I love sweet things, I am not eating near as many dates as I once was.

Try the same thing, but have some nutmilk already frozen and add that to a blender. It makes a thick creamy milkshake.

that's strange because in brigette mars rawsome!, she says that craving sweets may be an indication that the body needs protein. which is correct?
I've also really seen my tastes change and it hasn't even been 30 days. All I want (mostly) are fruits and veggies. Nuts are much less desirable for me.

Sounds better than what I had,,, yuck... don't know why but i could barely get it down.
I blended
1 banana
8 strawberries
green leaf lettuce
spinach
2 dates
Now how did this turn brown??? My kids were like" what is that Mom?" I thought it would taste yummy but really it didn't.
I do want to get my greens in smoothie form though.. I have another recipe that I should try... oh, maybe I put too much spinach in it,, that could have been the strong taste.. duh!!!

MMM, love almond milk. Lately I have been blending the almonds up with some coconut as well, it's yummy. I am trying get the word out on almond milk to give mothers and alternative to regular milk. It's funny so many people have never heard of almond milk.
RawPriestess,
Your recipe sound very Indian, dare I say Ayurvedic. You can also add ginger or allspice.

Solarliving,
My secret ingredient is cardamom, oh baby, it tastes like a cinnabon only in liquid form. YUMMY.
Allspice and ginger, will have to try that one, sounds delicious. YES!!
Thanks :o)
Thanks Samuelwilson, I did that this last time and oh baby, oh baby, icy, creamy, frothy, yummy.

let me think, red strawberries and green greens, awww, brown! It must be the combination. Perhaps try bananas with berries and dates only, or bananas with just a lettuce (no spinach) and dates? My kids looove smoothies!
