misslinda
12-01-2009, 12:29 AM
There are only 31 days left of this 2009 year.
DAY ONE BEGINS TOMORROW.

I'm going to finish this year with a dilluted limited type of juices and veer into pure water fasting.

Just want to getaway and recharge...you know that inner core feeling when you go into fasting bliss?

Would love to have others join in that are either juice and water fasting and to share their journey with us. The more descriptive the better !

I'm hoping to see familiar faces as well.....

Michiganroman....Eternityrider.....Morn......Alees ha.......Raisingalex.....
;)

Penta water
Spring water
Sweat suit for sauna
Cedar atlas oil
lemon
Grapefruit
Palm's brush

Yes, I read that thread twice and its taken me a few days to soak it all in....reality sets in a little more. I read your idea on FB but I think I will go solo on that subject just for the sake of simplicity.

One thing for sure about fasting, it brings your body to a concentrated level of cleansing, rejvenating and healing~ the journey can be overwhelming but it truly is intimate.

The Crazies always find each other ;)

Liss is already water fasting. She's been doing it for a few days now. (raising alex)... so I know she's in.

I'm not going to fast at this time... probably again in a few months. But I'll happily drive the water tanker!

she is. ;) i told her i thought she was nuts. she didn't fast when they were homeless and starving and now that she's got plenty of food she's fasting LOL oh well... a girl has GOT to do what a girl has got to do and she's being called to fast.

i would love to fast with you all... but my body seems to be in an eating space at the moment... (and my kids really don't like me fasting during the holidays)... so i'll wait and fast when you are all done. alone... on the road... *starts to giggle* okay i didn't carry that one off well did i *giggles again*

they are! hippie needs a job, but they are living somewhere with walls, heat and food! very nice indeed during the cold winter months.

i meditated last night - asking if now was an okay time for me to fast. my guides suggest late december... so i'll join you all before you finish and then perhaps carry on from there. i told my hubby last night i feel like all my friends are doing something great and i'm grounded and staying home. he laughed at me and told me to fast if i wanna. but alas... i do like to listen to my guides. *says with a smile* so i'll follow their lead.

(((hugs all around)))

Hey Linda! I'm also going to be fasting during the month of December. I need a good cleanse and I'm performing a social protest against the massvie amounts of over-consumption in this month. I'm going to refrain from buying anything non-essential, as well. Cheers to health and simplicity for 2010!

@ FG, LOL...I guided a gal of legal age with fasting and her mother accused me of making her daughter sick. It wasn't until her horrifying allergies went away then her mother thanked me. Phewwwwwwwwww . Since everything is in writing here, we might as well keep it real :D

@ MR, I love Carrie Underwood! Love that song and 2 thumbs up for her being a vegetarian!

DAY 2 ending and I'm feeling WONDERFUL and smiled to myself all day!

Had a incredible BM.....YES......

I'm starting to feel that layer of oil on my skin similar to prementrual cycle. My evening dry sauna session always ease my detox. I LOVE that sauna room.

Fasted half a day today on Cranberry juice.
I felt lousy after I ate. Got that sore gland feeling in my throat so I'm gonna sleep in and maybe jumpstart the fast again tomorrow.

MissBliss - good job on the 2 days so far. Inspiring, as usual.
Oh.. and next time you call together the troops, pweeeeeeeeeze, could ya give us just a little more heads up?

Funny.. you'd think that the hottest time of the year would be best for fasting.
But oddly, I find myself more inwardly drawn during the cold or cooler times of the year. Anyone else experience that?

But I still hold that ALL seasons are good for fasting. :p

Had to work late last nite.
Woke up feeling horrid.
Today I have decreed a fast!

Actually every season I feel a transition via fasting but some seasons are considered more effective time of year to fast i.e. in Spring season in TCM principle, the LIVER is most active.

Personally durning Winter, I would never do a lenghty fast. The longest one I completed in 2007 was started in Summer and that was a wonderful experience but again, I would never do one that long in the Winter. Speaking of duration, I never really set a time frame anymore other than allow the journey to begin and end where it leads.

What about all of you...do you have a set time frame and such?

OMG, FORAGING.....that brings back memories MR BEAR! :p

FG, u grow garpefuits? u must be in cali still?

Sitting here taking a short break and sippping on dandelion tea. It's been a beautiful day in many ways. I've had no significant detox other than slight dizzy but that too....has passed. Teeth and gums feel squeaky a little more these days.

FG, u grow garpefuits? u must be in cali still?

What's a garpe fuit? lol

No we don't have any gf trees. But we do have an apricot tree. My wife planted it. After only 2-3 years or so, it gives us tons of yummy apricots every summer. Passion fruit also grows from the neighbor's yard and hangs over our black wall. We are very fortunate in that our condo is the only one out of nine units that has a yard, cuz it's the way back one, and was the condo the orig developer owned himself. So we only have one shared wall, and most of our neighbors are Chinese, so we have a very quiet little condo community.

Behind us is one of the only undeveloped pieces of property in Temple City. It's a HUGE lot full of trees, tall grass and wild feral cats (meow). We've been feeding them for years and they love us (well, the food anyway). They avoid people like the plague, but I have been able to pick two of them up and hold them. They still get freaked out & don't talk to me for a few days.. but still take my food. lol. My wife took one of the offspring and adopted it. This cat was only a few weeks old when we caught it. It never got over its wild nature and hides under the bed all day long. Except when she goes out on the roof. At nite, usually after midnight, she comes out and parks on the bed, close to my wife, or right on her legs.. go figure. But if I wiggle my toe under the covers, she attacks it. The kitty in her can't resist playing.

This lot has many nice trees - apricot, persimmon, orange, passion, pomegranite, walnut.. :p and an eccentric old man who never picks them and doesn't care of we do. :p :p

It's a nice view from my studio upstairs. I'll post pictures sometime.

Have fun, kiddos. I'm not in this time. I'm doing 2 oz. wheatgrass and 14 oz. green juice (no fruit) twice a day, but I've lost way too much weight and am having to also eat solid food for now. I'll be checking in every now and then to watch the fun, though.

ER, you're just 1/2 hr. from me (or so). I know Temple City fairly well. How lucky you are with the old man/overgrown fruit tree situation. Urban scavanging is great. My persimmon tree was inexpertly pruned last year and this year only burped out two fruit. Fuyu persimmon. Yummm. But ... I'm so (almost) off fruit so it's for the best. Otherwise, I'd be so tempted and I'm saving my infrequent fruit indulgences for the king of fruit and nothing less!

speaking of green juice i found a new green you may heve never tried / grown this years garden , ' red russian kale ' - link =

http://www.willhiteseed.com/proddetail.php?prod=55

a fast grower / cold tolerant / easy grower / up until it gets beyond hand size has real good taste / fits excellently in a mesclun bed with romaine and loose leaf lettuces . its joined spinach / romaine / roquette / dandlion in my favorite greens to grow

also growing wheat grass in garden this year to grab a bunch to chew on while in garden , chew and suck on it like a nasty wad of tobbaco :D
then eject out the pulp after a while . tastes great and makes teeth feel clean / scrubbed

just picked a laundry basket full of red russian kale today before frost destroyed it so can dry it for a green super food if want during winter .
but ide much prefer plain old fresh raw greens instead of dried powder

well seeing your on wheatgrass makes me realize i better dig a bunch of soil outta garden into 5 gallon buckets so i can bring in when want during winter to thaw out for growing wheat grass in . my garden soil is so rich you would never believe it  , not kidding . 15 years of feeding it straw / grass clipping / leaves / tree bark and logs / wood ash / lime / wood chips in massive amounts has created like a 3' deep layer of great rich soil over my like 30 X 80 garden , and the wheat grows like crazy out of it

i'll take pics next batch

well you didnt ask for it but there was my life story :D

Hi RawTruth

Well, I'm really such a beat-the-system guy, it's sheer, untold torture to live as I do. (Overpriced housing to cost/living ratio, prop taxes.. like $3200/Yr!..Grrrrrr, med insurance. Darn, I'm not even a left winger and I'm *really* struggling with the gross disparities of the system - particularly where corporations getting obscenely rich at the direct expense of the common good (which has come to light these late 3 years, more than ever).

But, still, I'm thankful for what we do have. And I saw some footage recently on how they live in Zimbabwe, but don't wanna depress anyone. One day I know I will be content to live far simpler, and not be working all my waking hours to pay for lumber & nails on a hunk a dirt. But my convictions about this are more radical than most people's. So don't mind me.
Anyway, thank you for letting me vent. :D

I haven't seen an Adelle Davis quote in a very long time. Thank you. Evokes good memories.

Uhh, what's the king of fruit?

Lovin' everything I hear. Some diversity on a fasting thread is good. Only, have ye some good hiding places for a hefty portion of raw yon vittles. Times are comin' and they ain't pretty. Folks will be looking for food, and gardens will be eventual targets. It's more fun to have food to share.. by choice.

Hi Y'all Wild and Wooly Raw Fasting bandits.

I just came upon this thread and was happy to see it!

I started a water fast on the 1st and plan to continue for as long as it feels right.

It is nice not to be obsessing about food, which is what I too often do.

I fasted a little over 20 days last year and wonder how far it will feel right to go this time.
I would love to make 21 days and/or the whole month, but don't need to force myself if I feel ready to end sooner.

Right now on Day 5 I am happy to be alive!

Feeling good and enjoying the snowfall, though I must admit I am really cold, even in my home, since we tend to keep the heat on the cool side to save energy.

I am bundled up like Nanook of the north.;) BRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Maybe I'll start adding some cayenne to my water to turn up the heat inside.
I did run outside yesterday, but the snow today is not appealing to my wimpy inner runner.:p

Look forward to staying connected through the journey and thanks to Miss Linda for starting this thread and the momentum.

Detoxing for inner bliss,

Elena

goodday folks

getting thru the early fast stages today , cant wait to get guts empty
and higher energy flowing . soon as i get guts empty day 3 or so going on a huge run to enjoy the feeling of running on an empty gut - CANT WAIT ITS ADDICTING

sucked on an orange wedge last night cuz feeling terrible ,
and wow do the oranges taste great now at crop harvest

think im gonna just drink water then suck on orange wedge when weak this fast because the orange just taste so perfect to me today

plus this way its less juice going into gut than juicing , and the juicer makes juice taste less than just sucking on the wedge

gardendude we need a music vid , please tune us into some rock from the past

Oh but M.R... Richard Carpenter was a brilliant arranger & a great piano player. And Karen C had that million dollar voice. Mr, Frank Marino is raw? He sure is loaded with meg energy to do those guitar licks ;) My sis is still fairly new to fasting. She wants "us" to start fasting tomorrow so I will begin with her as day 1 but continue on my own as day 7.....love the energy that fasting brings. It's like clouds being lifted from us and we get lighter and brighter.

I guess you knew "Top of the World" was a Carpenters song.

Hey M.R. - I wouldn't say we're so opposite on music. There's plenty of overlap.
It's true, I was always one of those SIT-ON-THE-GRASS-AND-PONDER-LIFE kind of guys. So I've tended toward the more contemplative, deep message stuff like Moodys, Procol Harum, Joni Mitchell. Speaking of Procol, were you ever into Robin Trower?
At the Moody concerts, the place was always lit up with herb, and quasi mystic/Mellotron player Pinder would say "It smells like you're having fun."

So ya like high energy? How about these classics?..

was i into trower ? bridge of sighs was an all time classic with me

saw trower play here in detroit at a huge club called ' harpos ' back in the 80's , guys like marino and johnny winter would come there alot too because there was a big time hard rock crowd here in the area that loved their music .
harpos was the most awesome place , an old theater with big stage turned into a giant bar with live rock bands constantly . classic place that was ran by a motorcycle gang to keep things from getting out of hand . i saw marino there 3 times and according to me and like 15 of my freinds that saw some of the shows hes the best guitarist any of us seen . he blew guys away i saw like nugent / trower / stevie ray vaughn / etc and numerous hard rock bands like nothing . only one that i saw that was with him was carlos santana , and that may have been more of his great percussion band and musical style because i really like the percussions in santana . though yes carlos is a great guitarist that i saw 3 times because like so much

heres a classsic trower video from a concert in detroit way back , listen to the crowd a bit and you can tell how much theyre into it

Yeah, but I noticed that the fasting really helped. It quite nearly blew it away. I do need more sleep. I work too hard, always pushing myself to get more done. Checking back in!

Hi Eternity Rider and Miss Linda, thanks for your Welcome!
ER I hope your sore throat is receding or gone.
For the most part, it sounds like everyone is doing well. I hope your migraine is long gone, MissLinda!

I can't be on the computer as much as I would like right now, but I will check in now and then to say hey and to thank you all for being my Fasting Bandit CyberBuds!

Day 7 and feeling great, actually!

Yesterday I felt a bit tired and woozy and a wee irritable at the end of the night, but I think that was because I expended a lot of physical energy during the day.

I am feeling cold, but Miss Linda that dry sauna sounds like the perfect antidote. I will meet you there in my dreams. We can have a little of the Carpenters, and Moody Blues playing in the background. Everyone is invited.
Michigan Roman might be kind enough to pass around some orange wedges while we soak up the heat! Yum!!

Today has been great. It's after 10 and I am feeling like I'm getting into the Fasting Groove. The one that Miss Linda Describes so well.

I love the clouds being lifted metaphor. I am feeling lighter and brighter!
Thanks for being here!

I drank water intermittently and did my dry sauna session for a total of 1 hour and feeling like dancing feet! My teeth are looking brighter and I'm getting more coated tongue at a faster rate.

Aleesha, it will come off and we are doing all the right things for ourselves (Patting your back and mine too ;) ) I'm going to warm your seat with my boo-tay and leave a snuggie there for you ! Do you know what a snuggie is? Cheers to every bit of improvement!!!

Soulstar, I must say, the dry sauna is a wonderful feeling when you feel cold plus it accelerates the detox process. Quite effective results! Great to hear that your day 7 is going smoothly. Speaking of dreams~ do your dreams become more interesting while you are fasting too?

ER, sweet your sore throat is almost gone! btw, I'm the same way. I've got a zillion projects and I decided to basically shut down my social life and concentrate on me. I can acutally hear myself think and get stuff done constructively. What kind of projects?

MR, I was there too today. My migraine was so intense, I basically advertised to everyone that I could not even function. I felt like I had a halo of thorns on my head. I wanted to punch everyone :p Somehow I think that would have helped....I just could 't find anyone to participate.

Day 8 and I have cleared stage 1 and I feel like a baby that woke up...I have glowy skin this morning and my body is adapted to going on into fasting....at some point, I will veer into pure water.

Today I had a glass of penta water with E3 LIVE and some more water. I can't wait for my dry sauna session. I'm really enjoying that astonaut like suit I wear ;)

Hello beautiful people here and there...

I'm in that introspective mindset while fasting......going deeper into healing and working at removing more layers mind body and spirit. This has been a beautiful song on my mind lately...."Time to slow it down" by Gary B in Spain

see that you two bandits on the west coast are here at the ' computer hour ' 11 oclock , well out east here its 2 am and the sleeping hour but im zero tired cuz of fast

had a running nose all day yesterday as i guess was throwing off toxins .
one eye was tearing / running too a little bit like that was some more throw off

did several 50 yard sprints today and wow was i flying ,
with empty gut im my fastest by far .

tongue once again as has happened on my most recent fasts is not as coated as on my earlier fasts , so body must be cleaning up a bit here entering 5th year raw - and around 20th fast

BUT THERES WAY MORE TO COME :D

Maybe we can all agree on a time, not that we're bound to it, but just an average time when we can know what might be flying or creeping out there. :D

Hi guys, hi Aleesha!
Im cowering as i write this, i feel soo ashamed.
After my last long fast, i was feeling so good, I was on a high> i knew I broke the fast early, I was healing a lot of things emotionally and I panickd when they came up, so I broke the fast.

I haven't been eating properly since then, I was bullimic years ago, I thought it was gone, I was so sure it was in the past, and now its back. I feel so out of control, I want to fast and get back into myself and get back into a a raw lifestyle and heal myself. I feel like im just.... floating, lots of people tell me that i dont seem like im here.

I want to fast and meditate everyday for 30-40 days. I want to heal so badly, Ive been so depressed over the last few days, I want this cloud to pass.
Nothing in my life will move until I move. Im 21 in 4 months, I dont want to be sitting here sad and depressed and overeating after im 21. I have so many opportunites awaiting me,...

This is me taking my life back!

Im doing a mainly water fast initialy, Im scared i may have hurt my insides by overeating, so I want to give my body time/space/chance to heal.
so today is day 1 for me, Im mainly water. Ill have some ginger/lemon juice to help clean my insides.

I hope you guys can keep me accountable, I need to do this.

Happy fasting,..

I will be back :)

Good morning beautiful people.....

Day 9 and moving along here.

Penta water and did some stretches this morning and sore hips.

Welcome Nubianess and it sounds like you have been thru a wave of emotions and experiences. None of it is uneccessary...just part of your journey and we support you in moving forward. Relax and take one moment at a time :)

I need to catch up later and decipher MR and ER jabberwocky talk :p

Thanks for the warm welcome! I feel like im back home again :D
Nice to see you again Aleesha. (((hugs))

Yes you are right, the only moment I have, the only moment I can change is now.
Day 1 is going well, Ive had 1 cup of pure ginger/lemon juice. I dont want any sugars or anything to stimulate my taste buds,.., just pure water.
Im glad i have this space to be accountable,.. I can do this!
As they say, there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Im well prepared for this, even though my eating patterns have been all over the place, ive been taking wheatgrass shots and green juice nearly everyday so I guess ive been detoxing on some level.

my tongue is already fully coated, getting some waves of nausea, but nothing I cant handle.

Im looking foward to getting deep into this and going back home into myself!
happy fasting everyone!

I find it so cool that when I tell my body I'm fasting... it gets right into detox sometimes. It doesn't wait. Whereas on a normal day... my tongue wouldn't get coated that fast.

Ahhhh how our bodies and our minds work together so nicely!

Welcome Nubianess,
I'm glad you have joined us and I wish you the best on this journey.
I know how painful it can feel to slip into old self-destructive patterns. I have battled with bulimia in the past, as well. I have fall prey to Overeating when my emotions are in upheaval.
More power to you, for re-committing to creating a space of healing and love for yourself. Allowing your body the time to heal. Many blessings to you on your return to your powerful center.

Miss Linda - you asked about dreams, well thanks for asking since I havn't shared this with anyone. I had a powerful dream 2 nights ago that I was working with Gabriel Cousens in his Greenhouse. Maybe with sprouts. There was such an incredible feeling of love, connection ,reverence, and humor all rolled into one that I woke up laughing at something Gabriel said.
I have never dream of him, or any other raw food "leader" before. It was such a nice feeling to wake up with.

And you, Miss Linda, glad to here your migraine is gone, would you (or anyone of the Fearless Fasting Bandits) care to share any fasting dreams?

It is Day 9 and i am blessed to be feeling great. I know I can make 14 easily on water, and potentially more, if it feels right. For now, I am taking it one day at a time. One moment at a time.
I just watched Food Matters , (a great Documentary that you can access for $5 on line about the wonderful benefits of Raw Foodism) and I enjoyed it very much. I can't wait until films like this make it into the mainstream, as I am sure they will someday.

Happy Fasting, y'all!

Peace,
Elena

ER, I am so excited that we live so close....we need to find time during the summer to meetup!!

MR, as you suck on that orange, how is the stomach issues these days?

Nubianess, so wonderful to journey with you and lots of love and support here....cheers to new beginnings!

Aleesha, snuggies for both of us ! I know, I get so excited when I get the coated tongue...heck if my breath smells bad...I feel like showing it to everyone....;)

Soulstar, beautiful dream~do you remember what gabriel said that made you laugh? Very symbolic to see sprouts in the dream!!!! I love that! Interesting that you begin to dream of him while fasting....

Myself, I dream vividly almost in real time. For example, I had a to make a very difficult decision this past month and the other person involved, I wasn't sure I could trust. I struggled about the approach and during fasting, I drempt of the person and there is always ONE color in the dream that stands out when I have dreams like this during fasting ......and he was wearing a certain color and it's almost like the camera zooms in and I am keying in on it....when I awoke, I knew what the answer is....

This centered/grounding feeling during fasting, I realize how much around me is out of balance. Whether it is dead food, dirty water, negative energetic residue or a room full of unhappy people, I am revived knowing that fasting allows me to regroup and regain the sensitivty to determine what is balanced and what is not....the sense are ALIVE. Its truly an amazing feeling of resilience, strength, vitality and harmony.

Has anyone gone thru the emotional detox yet and would like to share what if feels like?

Do you men go thru that and care to share on a deeper level? ;)

Aleesha Sattva
12-10-2009, 12:51 AM
i've gone through so much emotional detox. when i did my 84 day fast last summer, right after my friend committed suicide, i found myself detox so many of my emotions. it was pain-filled and turned into joy-filled - but to be honest, i didn't heal from his death. i think that fasting cleared much, but i still needed time to process and release the layers of the grief i experienced. i am still weaving my way through more layers.

not sure if that's what you were asking for misslinda... but it came to mind immediately.

i am sooo looking forward to doing this green smoothie feast tomorrow. lately when i try to fast, i find that i can't seem to go for long. after fasting for so long last year - this saddens me greatly because i want to get back into that zone. i'm hoping this mini-feast will help me to get into the right frame of mind to do an extended fast/feast later this month and continuing into 2010.

I always detox my emotions! I end up crying/ depressed/ doubting/ questioning things in my life that make sense....then basically the next day it has gone away! Doing a fast/detox is always a good reminder that we don't always harbor toxins from food but emotions as well!

Today was the hardest day. I believe it was because of all the physical work I
had to do today.

I am hoping tomorrow will be better! Boy, did I start fantasizing about a banana/almond mylk drink today! :p

I am still aiming to fast through the 14th to get in a solid 2 weeks, and then hope to continue with a juice fast, working up to juice and smoothies after several days of green & veggie juices.

Still, one day at a time, though.

Hope you all are doing great!

Not sure if I will last 'til Monday on water alone. Don't have to. Just taking it one day at a time. I did a of heavy snow shoveling and other physical work that contributed to making today the most challenging day.

soulstar my longest on water was 10 days

but the funny thing was that i was running / biking / lifting while working 8 hour days at a medium duty manual labor job , before hand i couldnt have fathomed pushing it like that . the whole time it was my focus / determination versus my body and doubts . i wanted to quit day 2 :D
but time after time wanted to push my limit , running was my best high as at start of run i didnt think i could run 100 yards . but 5 miles later i felt a great sense of accomplishment and growth in confidence

a big reason i continue to like fasting is that after every fast i feel more survival confident and emotionally stronger , its sorta like lifting weights with your mind = your mind gets stronger from pushing your limits of determination

its a great growth tool i'll always partake in

Greetings to all of you Day 10 ending and I am in complete "solitude."
Speaking of dreams~ last night, I placed my clear quartz between the brows for third eye activation and meditated my way to sleep.

I dreamed I was talking to one of friends and then was looking for him....at the moment of the dream, I said, "Where is he???" This morning at 6:30, my phone buzzed at that very moment and it was him sending me a txt msg.

Emotional detox is one of the most beautiful experiences in opening those meridian lines. I find myself enjoying these bouts of various emotions believe it or not....kind of in a willy wonka world ;)

I know that headache feeling Aleesha. Rewarding to a certain angle and I know you will ride it thru! That or punch someone :D

I had 2 shots of wheatgrass yesterday to step things up a bit, Ive also been having tons of lemon water.

I dont want to have any juices, I want to keep this as close to a water fast as possible. I feel much better today, Im no longer angry at myself, ive been doing a lot of reading and journalling and inner work, I feel much better.

Im still scared of slipping up again, but im sure it will pass in time,. theres nothing to be afraid of.

Great work on the journaling and inner work.
But most of all, congratulations on letting go of any anger at yourself! Hurray!
Have fun with your crystals!

I've been incorporating more meditation into my routine which has been calming for me in the midst of fasting.

You're right, there is nothing to be afraid of.

We're all here for you and each other!!

Miss Linda - What a neat exprience with the third eye crystal at night and connecting to your friend and waking up to a txt message in the morning. I love hearing about these sweet cosmic synchronicities. Keep 'em coming, crystal woman!!

Streetsurfer - 10-4 Good buddy! and welcome to the fasting convoy!
I hope you have safe travels on the journey, I know you have great company!!:D

Michigan Roman - WOW! You are a champion! Running and lifting weight and working! Whoa doggie!
I did run and exercise more the first week of the fast, but for some reason snow shoveling 12 inches of wet snow for over an hour did me in.
Not much running happening in my world for the next 6 months thanks to mega-snow and ice out there. Today it is in the teens and we are surrounded by snow dunes.

Everyone else- keep up the great work!

One day at a time...

I was so scared of slipping up, I let fear get the best of me and guess what? I slipped!
I feel bad, physically and emotionally but im not gonna dwell on it and be angry with myself. I made the choices and have to live with them. I need to pull up my Big girl panties (a la Aleesha ) and deal with it .
I wasn';t this bad a few months ago, :(

oh well, moving on,
Im having lemon juice/water to "clean my slate" so to speak, and im moving on.
during meditiation, my guides have adviced me to keep this a ten day fast, short and intense, and then transition to eating properly, then I can do other short 10 , 7 or 3 day fasts as time goes on, apparently its not time for a long fast for me, not till next year anyway.
Also raised a lot of issues not directly connected to my eating habits that I need to change. In a way im glad I have this, Its like a red light to warn me when im way off track spiritually and otherwise.

Keep going guys,. you are doing great!

Aleesha- I am sorry, but I can not help you in the poop report department. I am on my 14th day of water fasting and have had very little to report.;)
I did do 3 enemas the first week, but I won't count those.:D

Miss Linda
I hope you are doing well, too. Sorry to hear about your internet disconnect. Hope you'll be among your cyber-buds again soon.

Today is Day 14 of my water fast, and I feel sooooo good that I am extending it. I will still take it one day at a time, but I am going to add a teaspoon of bee pollen.
I am already having tea with fresh ginger , along with water and lemon water.
ON days like today, I feel like I can fast forever. I did 3 hours of massage work and felt soo connected with my clients. Sublime.
That lovely clarity that sometimes arrives in the midst of a fast was gifted to me today by Spirit and I am simply grateful.

May all of your feel your fasting groove, too!:) Love you all!

Elena, I am there with you in this moment... not in my fast but in spirit. Thank you for sharing and allowing me to sit in your passenger seat - even if just for a moment.

I am detoxing today. Spending time on the couch, cuddled under a blanket with one of my dogs and 4 kittens. Amazing how much love kittens can channel. (((love)))

MR, I look forward to fasting with you again my friend. As always... I hold the light until we meet on the road once more.

misslinda, sending cyber links your way to create an internet connection for you soon.

love and light to all,

DAY 16 Water and Ginger Tea fasting. I started adding 2 teaspoons of bee pollen. Lovin' it!!:p

I'm still feeling really good, and can see myself making it to 21 days, which would make it 3 weeks. Still not going to push but it just feels sooo easy right now that i want to ride the fasting bliss wave as far as it will take me.
As long as i don't have to shovel our endless driveway filled with wet snow, I should be fine.:)

good news misslinda = ive got a weird dream report

in the dream i see a women i dont know look kinda scared standing inside a house looking at the entrance door that has someone on the other side knocking on it heavily

so i walk over to door to see whats going on and as i walk up to door i look outside a window by door and its a full size big living skeleton with old shredded clothes and dirt hanging off it , so i go f bomb this ;) this thing is scaring this women im getting it outta here and go barreling out the door . well the skeleton turns and starts running from the house very quickly , very fast like maybe faster than people run . and to my surprise the skeleton was in my backyard running from my house . i threw a flimsy peice of aluminum siding at it (an actual peice that is laying outside my house) that didnt do any damage and it just looked back and kept running

ran right thru my garden where the flying / talking tomatos live :D

Miss Linda The honor is all mine! What a wonderful group of Fasting Bandits to end the year with. Yesterday was the New Moon in Sagittarius, and I feel new beginnings perculating. It seems like after the 2 week mark, my energy really started to reach another level of freedom.

Sometimes, when I am in this state, I wonder why it is so easy to for me to get obsessed with food when I am eating, and yet, here I am and I feel so "free" of food . It's not that anything is wrong with food, mind you. I love the stuff, personally.;)It is just the strkk difference between not thinking of food at all, to thinking about it so much of the time. Plan a meal, shop for the food, prep it, eat it, clean up, store leftovers. Think about your next meal. etc.
Fasting is so simple. So much time opens up. And I get in touch again with a sense of having enough, and of being able to appreciate the little things more, like the sun on the trees, and the rainbow sparkles of crystal light dancing within the snow.

Catch you all again , soon!

Keep the Bliss Alive as we ride into a wonderful New Year!

I ate mostly fruit on thursday, juiced friday, and had all water today so I am officially on board. For how long, I've not yet decided. I am thinking of going long, though.

I have a question. Have any of you taken enzymes while water fasting? I am wondering if supplementing enzymes while water fasting is a good idea? I'd like to assist any healing that will take place, and yet allow the stomach to stay shut down as it would be with water alone. I do hope to go beyond that three to five day point. I thought I'd try to focus the fast on some joint and muscle/ligament repair also. Maybe see if it will remove some calcification and scar tissue around some of my vertebrae while I do my neck therapy. Is this possible?

Also, I may depart from the truck theme and picture myself on two wheels instead, maybe doing some streetsurfing on my supermoto on the Isle of Man, or on G.C., BWI. You know, take me to a happy place, so to speak. I'll still be truckin' though.

Anything is possible while fasting... who knows what our bodies will choose to heal. It's up to it's wisdom, we can only ask for what we want and see what comes of it.

Welcome Moth and Welcome Back Streetsurfer!

Happy to see new folks on board to ride out the end of the year in style!'

Today is Day 21 of my fast. I am feeling great!

I began as a water and herbal tea fast. About a week ago I started adding a few teaspoons of Bee Pollen.

I am going to do water/tea and bee pollen today as well.

I will definitely be continuing this fast is one form or another until the end of the month, but I may add green juicing at some point. Not today, though.

I have been reading Cleanse and Purify Thyself by Dr. Richard Anderson, which I LOVE. I had never even heard of him or the book before. His writing is so inspirational and his cleansing program is deeply rooted in a spiritual understanding of health. For example, cleansing toxic emotions, and thoughts are a vital part of his philosophy of healing and cleansing, which I resonate with very much.

I have cried a few tears during my morning meditations, which has been healing as well. ANd I am sending all of you Lots of Love and Bliss as you ride into the New Year! Thanks for all the support and stellar companionship.
It has meant a lot to me.

I have had a personal spiritual intention for my fast which I feel gave me added strength to carry on over my occasional cravings for food. (especially when there are cooked food smells permeating my home;) ).

I have also been reading a juice fasting book to begin to prepare for the juice fasting part of my fast which will last for at least a week. I haven't shopped for food in over 3 weeks and will have to stock up on veggies for the juicing at some point when I feel the time is ripe. It may even be tomorrow. I am taking it one day at a time for now.

Love and Bliss to you ALL , Fellow Fasting Bandits!!

What am I craving? A warm and spicy cup of chai with coconut milk. :p

Thanks Soulstar for the love and encouragement. I can feel it. Thanks to every one here for this thread and it's support.

I am going to be looking for that book also. I could certainly benefit from some emotional work. I've been working on dealing with automatic negative thoughts or ants as Dr. Amen calls them, and that is really helping me.

I hit a low last night and felt a little queasy this morning upon rising so I juiced a lemon and strained it into a glass of water, which help immensely. Otherwise it's been water, water, and more water, though twice an herbal tea bag was added. I've been able to cook for my wife and prepare some dehydrated foods and sprouts without accidentally popping something in my mouth, although I came close a time or two. Oh yeah, I did also toss down a little slippery elm in water in hopes it would aid in clearing the colon. So I'm feeling good and have been able to think through some things much better than while my system is focusing on digestion. I love fasting, and love you all!

Been too busy.. sorry, it's not like me to be away so long. To answer your earlier question, ML, I work on music projects... when I can. Sometimes photos too, or some creative writing, but mainly music.

Here's one from the 90s that my wife wrote and I did the tracks (synth, sampler - harp, piano, English horn, strings, choir, birds, click-clacks ..) It always had a forest setting. I just put together this video in the wee hours.. It's only 3 min or so..

Good emphasis, soulstar. Amazing how folks take care of their bodies but let their souls run wild with all kinds of hurtful things. Inner cleansing is so vital here as well.. things like changes in attitude (which so much involves conscious choice),
forgiveness - wherein we set another free and thereby set ourselves free,
and those toxic emotions we so often hear about.

Now what a great fast this makes -- to purify within & without. Don't ya love it? :p

I meditated on my fast last night and decided that a coconut water fast is what I'm starting today. I will be keeping a tiny bit of blended (very thinly blended) things in this fast until January in order for me to complete this holiday season.

So I decided that I'll add the coconut meat from these gorgeous young coconuts to the milk and blend it once a day. I have some kiwis and persimmons to use up and I may blend them with heaps of water to make a very thin mix and drink that as well. Just enough to keep the digestion gently awake...

Ahhhhhh I love fasting. :D:D:D

You betcha! I have had the opportunity or rather felt "the tap" to take care of something that I should have about a year ago while I was still pretty sick. It was such an eye opener to go through the process which involved a five page letter, and what a load lifted. I learned a lot about myself in the process, so now I know a few things to work on. I'm praying and hopeful it well bless the person on the other end as much as my finally taking care of it did me. I've got to look for The Tap in a minute here at our Library, it sounds great....(I don't remember if that was mention in this thread or elsewhere) we checked for Cleanse and Purify Thyself but that was a no show).
I am sending your music link to a couple friends who I know will really appreciate it, ER.

________

I am doing great, but worked through the night so I'm a little wound up right now from being overtired. Still on water, but added lemon juice to it again today. Last night I fell out of my lightly lifted truck, slipping on the ice before I get my footing climbing down. I landed hard on my left side, an exact duplicate of a fall I took from my mountain bike a month or so ago as far as the contact points. It wasn't the fall that hurt but the sudden stop at the end, hehe.
Seriously it wasn't that bad but it will start a healing process for sure. At the previous fall I knew I would be going through a healing as a result, and went right into prayer mode asking for the healing that was about to happen, to take care of some of the other issues in my body while it was addressing the soreness from the fall. One amazing part of this story is that the same basic fall happened again, but also a week after the bike tossed me, I was typing here and my neck got incredibly sore all of a sudden. It came on very fast and for a second I was miffed, then remembered my prayer and did a couple of the neck movements learned in therapy.
Like the wind, the pain disappeared, and since then a large knot that was always on my left side has been very small. It went down by a great measure after being a pain in the neck, yeah I said it, for nearly twenty years. I've had very little to no pain since that night at the computer, compared to what it usually was. I've been told it was bone spurs and narrowed disc space and I imagine some hypertrophied muscles. It always felt like the vertebrae was twisted counterclockwise and the left facet was what I was feeling bulging out. I have to believe that this new fall was continued answered prayer, and will yet improve my neck some more, as well as other old injuries involved-knee and shoulder. Praise be. What I get out of it is, it is often those things that hurt us a little that are the best for us, just as when dealing with emotional trauma/healing.

Every time I fast I am made keenly aware of the direct correlation between the natural world and the supernatural. It's just one of those basic truths you can't get away from.

Hi Moth, Thanks for your well wishes. Have wonderful Holidays, as well. I'm sure we will catch up again on the fasting highway. Until then, Have a lovely ride into the New Year!

My Update:
After 22 Days of mostly water, herbal tea (and for the last week, bee pollen), I started to juice fast yesterday. I feel great!
I made a lovely cabbage, kale, carrot apple juice and sipped on it through out the day as i was uncooking up a storm for a Xmas gathering I am hosting.

I will continue to green juice fast (with the exception of XMAS day) until the end of the month at least.

It's great to be among people who resonate so deeply with fastings' amazing energetic gifts. I, too , just love fasting, there is so much freedom in both water and juice fasting for me. It has been a great way to deepen my meditation practice, give thanks for all that I have, and to gain greater clarity on how I can upgrade my diet to a simpler, more life-giving one.

It has been fun and an honor to share the journey with my fellow Fasting Bandits, all of whom have shared inspirational experiences from your own fasting endeavors, that have propelled my own time on the Fasting Road.

Thank you one and all for the great company. I am not signing out, since I will be juice fasting today, and will resume on Saturday, but I won't be on line 'til this weekend or so.

For those who celebrate XMAS, Have a Very Merry and Love-filled time with family and friends.

Sending all of you Love, and thanks for your presence here.

Nice to see you back Eternity Rider.
Thanks for your harmonious response to my post about inner and outer cleansing. Nicely stated.
It is nice to remember that fasting and cleansing encompasses our whole being, and can bring such great freedom when we let go of toxic thoughts and feelings. Forgiveness is wealth. So Freeing on all levels as you stated.
I must admit I don't recognize your intriguing new avatar. Pray tell, who might that be?

AleeshaI love the sound of your coconut water and persimmon etc fast. How scrumtptious.:p I like the term you used to describe where you will be, "keeping the digestion gently awake". Nice. Enjoy your time with the coconut flow, I know you will.;)

I've surpassed my previous fasts and that makes me feel good. A few different things happening around the body. Did an oil pull this morning and am trying to get a tonsilith dislodged. Haven't had one of those for ages, but used to get them frequently before quitting dairy almost twenty years ago.

Last evening was rough for a spell. We got a few inches of snow and then it warmed and sleeted making it very heavy. Shoveling made me fairly nauseous (120 feet of drive with four cars to clear, ugh). A glass of water helped as usual. Feeling fine now but my mind went to "what if this is the nausea that can precede a heart attack:eek:. No, I was fine in short order.

Otherwise it has been many realizations of blessings, greater appreciation of music, some things both spiritual and material, and an amazing perfect timing of things I decide to work on, then at some point later during reading and study I come across key points on the same exact things. If that isn't guidance I don't know what is. Got the tap book to start on.

I am going to keep on trucking for a bit I suppose. I haven't set my time limit, but being my first fast past four days, I will be cautious. I am a light weight person already and don't have a lot of reserves to draw off of.

A cardinal just settled on my beautyberry bush to dine on some raw purple berries - how pretty. I am watching him as i type...I'll take that as a tap to call my dad...a big cardinal fan.

Aleesha, today I was inspired to put together a brief history of fasting.
(Don't know if anyone here did something like that already.. Misslinda?, I don't recall). I'd do it right now if I had the time, but sometime soon.

As the New Year approaches, and all the citrus is ripening here in Southern California, I am planning a serious fast, hoping to beat my last most wimpy 20 day record. This time, I plan to remove *all* meds, as I believe this is what was behind my illness during my last "long" one. That illness forced me to cut it short, as you may recall.

so far i've consumed:

the mylk of 2 young coconuts
a smoothie of 2 persimmons and 3 christmas oranges and lots of water to make it less thick.
3 litres of water (more to come i think)

it's 4:30 here and i think i'll probably have another 2 coconuts later.
