So far all I can find about breath is this:
4. Raw Vegans often have less gas, body odor and bad breath.
Living foods break down naturally and there's less gas given off, less body odor and less bad breath. Meat eaters give off considerably more gas, body odor and bad breath.
Anybody have any more on this? A friend of mine says her toddler has bad breath & i'm willing to bet my life that it's because of his diet! She is feeding him a pretty healthy version of the SAD, meaning he eats cooked & processed things & animal products but usually the healthy versions of them & organic as much as possible. She always made her own babyfoods & never bought the pre-made junk. She says now that he's not really breastfeeding anymore his breath is like "morning breath".

RVM,
I can only say for myself that the "odors" have definitely decreased (9weeks 85% RAW). In addition to that, I have become more aware of the "odors" of others- -including my 3 little carnivores.

bad breath is technically an acidic environment in the mouth, compounded with sulfer from decaying flesh, usually small particles caught between the teeth and gums.
All I know is that my breath tastes sweet to me and I sure can smell other's a mile away.
My sinuses used to be so clogged, I couldn't smell a thing, and that was certainly pleasant, because now I smell everything under the sun, and ALL of my friends (not on this board) are meateaters, and that is a terrible thing to smell.
I can't go into a public restroom anymore, it stinks so bad, I have to either use the bushes (which I don't mind a bit, but is hard to find in the city) or I have to go to a reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllly nice restaurant or hotel lobby, if I want to go away from home. These I can tollerate.
A baby or toddler's breath should be sweet. Bad breath can mean that the child has a challenge in the lungs, or teeth and isn't supposed to smell, at least that is what I read years and years ago, when I was first a mom, of course, they were chisseling all of this info in granite then. LOL

I have a 3 1/2 year old son. When he eats cooked food, his breath STANKS, especially the morning breath! When he eats raw food, his breath smells so clean and lovely, even in the morning.

I have noticed this phenomenon too -- not for kids, but for myself. Dinnertime, when my husband is chowing down on something cooked but vegan, is usually when I'm most tempted to veer from the raw path. I have noticed that, if I have something cooked or processed, my breath is bad when I wake up the next morning and I have a bad, dry taste in my mouth. If I stick to raw, I wake up with a much cleaner feeling mouth.
I have noticed effects on my sleep too. If I stay raw, I wake up feeling rested and almost energetic, but the littlest bit of cooked food seems to make me wake up groggy every single time.

I've noticed that too where i'd wake up groggy & feel like I need coffee to get going. I agree my mouth feels much cleaner eating this way!
Thanks for your feedback guys! :)

this has been my experience too. My son used to suffer from a terribly bad breath, until we went raw. My breath was not particularly pleasant either, and I suffered from gum problems as well. This all has changed since raw. I can't even cheat and eat something cooked without telling my husband, because he can always smell that!

i have no body oder whats so ever anymore.
i dont even need deoderant... even my sweat doesnt " stink "...
i started including free range certified organic eggs to my diet.. and i still smell as fresh as a flower :P... and now ive started including certified organic raw cheese ( mostly goat ) .. and still no body oder.
BUT.. i noticed that if i eat a non organic egg ( still free range, just not certified organic )... then my sweat starts to smell a little funny after i work out... but thats ONLY when i consume animal products that arent certified organic.
weird eh? i dont eat any meats tho, dont plan on it.. organic or not.
my eggs are pretty much raw.. i soft boil them.
and the cheese is always raw.. i wont eat any pasturized dairy!
