Hello
I have been a vegan for a little over a year now. I love living a compassionate lifestyle. However I did gain about 15 lbs in the transition process. Mostly due to experimenting with new recipes and eating too many goodies (I have a wicked sweet tooth)

A few weeks ago for my 48th bday hubby brought a group of our friends to Grezzo's in Boston. We ordered the "chef's tasting" (6 courses of food!). OMG I couldn't believe how wonderful the dishes were. That got me started off in exploring raw living.

In the past 1 1/2 weeks I have been mostly raw. I am experimenting with sprouting and dehydrating. I have questions about nuts and seeds and proportions. I really would love to lose this extra weight! I just ordered Alissa's book and video. Right now I'm getting recipes online and I have "The Idiots Guide to Eating Raw" and "Ani's Raw Food Kitchen". I'm not sure how these recipes coincide with Alissa's teachings.

I am looking forward to starting the 30 day challenge. I have noticed that eating raw has elimated food cravings. I'm so looking forward to being sugar free soon.

I am also looking forward to getting to know the members of this forum and helping each other stay fit and healthy and alive!

Peace,
Nina:)

Hello!

I also came into this from a vegan background. I think it helps, probably makes the transition easier.

Those are pretty good books. I also like the Complete Book of Raw Food.

Looks like you are already on track. I envy your Grezzo visit. I may have to put that experience on my next to do list. I have also found as many books as I could while I wait for Alissa's book. My experience has been weight loss without any cravings. Preparing food has become an experience rather than a chore. You've come to the right place.

Sounds great! You're lucky to be close to a Grezzo. Keep us posted on your progress...
