I wish the forum did not ask people to talk about how old they are on this thread. Chronological earth age is so yesterday. I am personally on a quest to extend my life into immortality!
My husband and I went full vegetarian about 15 years and eventually evolved to mostly 100% vegan. We still do make exceptions while dining out to eat occasional dairy products, but it is less and less as the years progress. Dairy and cooked carbohydrates have proven to be powerfully addictive substances to conquer.
About 4-5 years ago, all about the same time, I got hipped to Raw Foodism from 2 different directions. My friend Marcus in Las Vegas fed me raw chocolate and my friend Matt in Palm Springs handed me David Wolfe's Beauty Food Diet book. Well, it was love at first site. I love the raw food way of living and feeling. We are about 80% raw these days.
We moved up here to Vegas right around the same time from Southern California. And luckily Las Vegas is very supportive of healthy eating. Most casinos all have great veggie and even raw items on their menus and there are 4 Trader Joes, 3 Whole Foods and numerous smaller healthy or ethnic markets.
I saw Depak Chopra speak here at the Louise Hay conference a couple of years ago and love how he said (and I paraphrase) that "Las Vegas is the most spiritual city, because it does not pretend to be anything it is not."
Amen!
