Alissa has now lifted the ban on editing your posts. You can now edit them whenever you would like.

I wondered why we were not allowed to edit our own posting. What was the reason for that original ban, if I may ask?

This is the explanation I received ~
"The 5min editing was done because people were going in and writing bad things, starting discussions then got mad at the forum and starting wiping out their entire post so then it messed up a bunch of threads!"

It seems you can't separate the editing and/or deleting so, they felt the best thing to do was shorten the editing time so folk didn't have time to respond to a post and then have it disappear and people reading it get confused because the original post had been deleted.

This is my guess, anyway.
