I have been raw for 8 days and when I was cooking dinner for my family (veg bean chili), I was so hungry I ate a bowl of it. Now, I feel like I swallowed a basketball! I am so full after eating so little, and feel so lathargic. I hope this feeling goes away soon and I really wish Alissa's book would hurry and get here, so I can prepare tasty meals!
After you have been raw for a while, does it normally feel too "heavy" to eat cooked food?

Yes it does, but this is good. This is your bodies way of saying you put something bad inside of it. We slip sometimes, I do, anyone does. The main thing is that you realize that and now you are back on track.

Oh yes, it is an awful feeling to eat a cooked meal after raw!!! I alway feel so tired and depressed because I gave in and it is never worth it
Hope you feel better in the morning!
I, too, am waiting for Alissa's book/dvd's.... I hope they hurry because my family wants to go raw too,, and for a family of 8 it is not easy/financially feasable to feed only fruits/vegies.. My kids need some kinda staple to be filled and satisfied!!! And my hubby too :)

Last night for the first time in over 3 weeks I ate a non-raw dinner......can relate to the basketball feeling.......I think that was the biggest thing, the bloated too-full feeling. I was way too overtired to start with, didn't eat much at all during the day.,when I got to the restaurant it was closed due to maintenance issues.....went somewhere else and just didn't care enough at that point.....veggie burrito........hope I learned my lesson....was being soooo perfect......but I guess this is about life. Hope you are feeling ok today~

RVM hit the nail on the head...
Anytime I slip up an eat "cooked" even if it's completely vegan, I end up loosing half my day to sleep. I mean my body actually shuts down! To me it was the surest sign that raw veganism was the right track for me. I like that type of confirmation.

I feel so much better today. I generally work out in the evenings and after eating I had NO energy. I sat on the coach and almost fell asleep, which is very not like me. I guess the memory will be a great motivator in the future. ;)
