Ive been eating mostly raw for a week now. Today, after i had my raw dinner and desert, i started to have craving for some of the old foods. I guess the initial enthusiasm has settled and its down to business. Dadadadaaa(dramatic music). I heard somewhere that i should just go for it when i had those cravings, so i did. Im currently waiting for a lasagne. I know i should go for something more healthy, but this is exactly what i want and i go for it. As you might have figured out, there is a conflict inside of me. Ive had trouble with foods before. If i start to binge, it can last for some time. On the other hand if i dont do it the tension is building.

Im serious about going raw. My goal is to become 80-90% raw. I havent read any books yet and just read around and try to find what suits me and i think ive found my way. I just need someone who has experienced something similar and can tell me that this is just a face and that in the end I will cut those unhealthy foods out. Im trying not to force anything and just put more good things into my body and it is responding very good. But, now I feel I should discipline myself better and just refuse to go for the craving. ARRGH!!!

Please respond to a simingly very confused man...for the moment:confused:

The best thing you can do is find raw substitutes for your cravings. Whether it's raw lasagna, which is amazing, or something else that can satisfy you. This is why there are all kinds of recipes to prepare a wide variety of tasty dishes so you'll never want or need to eat SAD again. For those that are able to access it, there are also companies that make snacks and meals that you can pick up locally or buy through the internet. During transitioning is when you make things as simple and enjoyable as possible.

Hi RawViking,

The best solution I can think of is to:

(1) Purchase Alissa Cohen's book, LIVING ON LIVE FOOD (there's also a DVD) Here's a link:
http://www.alissacohen.com/shop/Books-p-1-c-2.html

(2) Follow her 30-day plan

(3) Join the 30-day challenge here on RFT (you can jump in anytime, not just the 1st of the month)

When I went all the way raw last August, I made certain to have lots of different foods prepared in advance. That way, when the cravings came, I had all kinds of choices: flavors, textures, colors, etc.

All the best!

I second this advise - excellent advise from folks who've lived it. :D

I absolutely agree that you need Alissa's book. If you follow her 30 day plan I will be very surprised if you have any cravings. And, I think you already know this deep in your heart, but giving into your cravings is the absolute worst thing you can do!
