Stop the cheese, bet that'll help. :) Dairy is known to cause weight issues, not to mention health ones. Exercise also works.

i'd like to say that i ate cheese just last saturday and during one enitre year i've been eating raw vegan foods...except for cooked rice and lentils from time to time...which i still do...so a question now, switching to raw goat cheese is not mucus forming according to walker...so i would know from people if eating it with lots of greens and other raw vegan foods will help me lose fat,not weight...
thanks

I use to have a lot of problems with my waist. Because I had a very low body fat percentage and the fat didn't go away. But then I realized it wasn't fat but water retention. It totally vanished once I started eating himalaya salt and did a colon cleanse which cleared a lot of mucoid plaque from my intestine.

so it could be water retention??? i admit one thing,i eat a lot of sea salt, so if i cut on grains and eat more green and fruits loaded with potassium,i will see some thing different???
to freshlight,it is the best but it is so difficult for me

last on is last off. Give it time. Number of us are in the same boat. I'm going to stay true to Alissa's principles and see where it leads me. ;)

Stop the cheese for sure!! - very high in fat
Try going low fat for awhile. Or doing a week or two of no fat.
Dont eat late at night.
Work out - exercises that work the whole body at once instead of focusing on a specific muscle. ie: squats with your arms straight up above head. = brings heart rate up faster = burns more calories, burpees are also good at home body weight work out.

Raw Runner -
As this forum is based around Alissa Cohen's book, why not check out her book and give HER "diet philosophy" a shot? I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. :) You've already done alot on mostly-RAW... now try ALL RAW!
Say goodbye to the dairy and cooked lentils!!! They aren't going to help your cause out any and you certainly do NOT need them if you're getting a balanced 100% RAW vegan diet!!! :D
I mean, have you seen pics of Alissa??? That woman has some of the most amazing, toned muscle structure I've ever seen - and she's 100% RAW VEGAN. :D

Definitely consider water retention, and as a related issue, digestive inflammation (which is a contributor to water retention).
Many people who hold weight around their midriffs are actually holding water rather than fat, and my take on the situation is that it's mainly caused by digestive issues (i.e. inflammation and related reactions of the digestive system) stemming from the consumption of foods such as cooked starches (rice, pasta, lentils, bread etc) and also things like dairy.
Try going 100% raw for 30 days, combining this with cardio (which assists with waste elimination, digestive issues and detox). You'll probably find a signifiant improvement after this. I lost lots of weight round the middle going from high raw to 100%. Make sure in your 30 days you include lots of unprocessed fresh fruits and greens.

I'm of the believe that body fat doesn't come off just one area, it comes off all of your body non-proportionately (dropping a body fat percentage might subtract roughly .5" of belly fat but considerably less inches in your arms). Granted, I have the same question as you - how to lose the last of my waist fat? Then I look around the rest of my body and take something like my calves - there's a little bit of fat on them too that doesn't want to stay there that much longer.
Or like others have said, it could definitely be water retention from too much salt.

I used to have a blobby belly, now its flat as, I know im not ment to mention 811/LFRV here but if im to share what has worked for me then I have to mention it!. Also i run every second day, jogging is a brilliant fat-burner. I have been a personal trainer (& now online rawfood coach) for years and haven't shifted my blub from there long term till the last 2years :)

Freelee - I don't think it's mentioning that you eat (only?? or MOSTLY??) fruit that's the problem... especially since many folks here eat mostly fruit, too... we just don't always label it the same way.
Issues begin if you were starting debates geared to somehow show that people shouldn't follow Alissa's advise because "your way" is "better", which would just be ridiculous considering this forum is supposed to be based around her advise to begin with.
:D
But I think you know this and were just being a tad facetious. ;)
P.S. EXERCISE, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN..... even with 100% RAW Foods, you can't sit on your patooey all day long and expect to loose weight or flab!!!

Weight-training is definitely important, build a fat-burning machine not a fat-storer :)

I have heard people say that swimming crawl/freestyle was a good exercise for the waist as it requires twisting in the "right" muscles and is also a great cardiovascular exercise.

Well, the water retention theory is new to me. I still have some abdominal "fat" (or something) that I would like to shed, but I figure it will go when it goes. I have been wanting to try a Master Cleanse. Maybe I will do that when I finish my current project of preparing every recipe in Alissa's book.
Thanks for the info!

Bellydancing! I heard that is very good for that area and it's definitely on my list to try. :) I'm walking now, as I build up my tolerance to movement. I have to be careful, as I do not want to re-injure my knee and still have some residual scar tissue/pain in that area from the surgery...so running is out. My pool will be open soon, and swimming is another great workout.
So yes..movement IS ideal, and bellydancing is on MY list to try.
VERY sexy. :)
