I just moved back home to Long Island after not having been here for 6 years... wasn't raw when I left and now I am. Does anyone here also live here and know where all the good stuff is? I'm kinda close to a trader joes, there is only one Whole Foods and I'm not close, and there is a Wild By Nature, but not even close at all to me. Where can I get things like wheat berries and flax seeds etc... I'm familiar with the restaurants in the city.. I'm just out of sorts here with stores! Where can I get a wheat grass shot? No Jamba Juices here!
IF anyone can help, I'd be sooooo greatful. Meeting some other LI rawbies would be cool too...
Thanks!
Christine

Watersole,
You might be able to get better specific information by joining the NYC raw food meetup group, which is the largest in the country.

Good luck!

Ah yes, I joined both the NYC meetup and the Suffolk County meetup groups a couple of days ago! ;) Thanks Rawtruth!
I will check out Sherries, Peanut. Thanks! I'm always open to meeting raw people! I see from your profile that you're in NYC, but I will be out there occassionally, especially to check out Quintessence and the other raw restaurants. I see we have some other interests as well.
I'm currently living in Uniondale, but plan to move out to Suffolk county when we can get a house. I'm more familiar with Suffolk county, grew up there and used to shoot weddings that had me travelling all over there. It's funny how rusty you can get just being away a few years!
I really appreciate the responses; I posted this on another raw forum and no one answered!
Thanks so much.

Hey christine, I am very new to the raw lifestyle, today is actually my very first day. I have been battling with lots of binging, and finally had enough with the food demons! Anyhow, I live on Long island also. I dont know where on the island you are but, definitley check out Sherrys in Babylon. Also, there is Fairway in Plainview, and Dr. B Well's in PLainview. Hope that helps! Have you gone to any of the raw meetups in the area? I definitley want to check them out!
