...for me? When I get embarassed....:p

Seriously, it could be any number of things. Blood pressure. Salt intake. Ethnicity. Skin tone.

Cut back on the salt. Increase the water and see if it goes away.

It sounds like it could be Rosacea. Look it up online in a search engine and it can tell you in depth the symptoms. I know one of them is your face and or cheeks being bright red looking almost like you have too much blush on. Or it looks like you blushed bright red. Hope that helps. :)

Could be rosacea.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosacea

Mine very seldom flares up anymore; just occasionally after maybe a hot bath or a glass of wine, but not always.

It can range to slightly pink to really red, and it can affect just a portion of your face, such as cheeks, or be all over, including neck and chest. I never had the small bumps but some people get those too.

A lot of times, it will fade or resolve over time or with a better diet. Some people have something that triggers it, and others its always there.

if it's rosacea, night shade foods can irritate it. If I eat eggplant skin, it's red the next day. Eggplant without the skin is less irritating.

Sugars, carbs or different foods make my face get red and hot. Today I had roasted pistacchios and my face was red.

The above posts caught my attention and I googled and here's a paragraph that will be of interest to raw fooders:

Thermally hot foods and drinks even cause vascular dilation or flushing in non-rosaceans. Avoid all hot foods and drinks until they have cooled to body temperature or better yet cooled well below body temperature.

scroll down to the section titled "Food Allergy Flushing" for this paragraph.

Here's another interesting paragraph:

Food Allergy Flushing
In our experience, many patients with rosacea have other symptoms that suggest the diagnosis of food allergy. A red nose, red cheeks, and red ears act like warning lights that turn on when a food reaction starts. Rosacea patients should identify the reactive foods when this flushing or vascular dilation occurs.
