Does anyone know a good source for Spirulina and Chlorella powder? I would like to try using them. I found them for a good price at bulknuts.com but after inquiring found that they are heat treated so I am not going to purchase them from this source.
Does anyone else know the best source in terms of PRICE, "rawness", and quality?
thank you so much!!

II buy both at Raw Vegan Source (http://www.rawvegansource.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?display=home). They sell Ultimate Superfoods Chlorella, which says "real raw" on the package. The spirulina doesn't have a brand name on it. The folks at RVS package it in 1 pound bags.

Raw Vegan Source is 15 miles from my house. They are a very nice couple who sell quality raw goods. They are the only local raw store around here, so I have an interest in keeping them in business. ;) There is a $10 one-time membership fee. I don't know about prices or shipping costs.

I can tell you a one pound bag lasts me a long time.

For the Spirulina I really love HealthForce Nutritionals. You can go to their website for a description. I love the quality. In fact I love all of their products. They are coming out with a chorella in the near future.

I have been making spirulina salad. You just make your regular salad then drizzle a little olive oil over the salad with a little bit of salt, then sprinkle on a little spirulina. I also like to add a small amount of lemon juice. If I add some raw kalamata olives to the salad it makes it super yummy.

I got this idea from Courtney Pool's blog. She works at the Tree of Life in Patagonia, AZ. She made a little video on how to make the salad, because she has gotten a lot of inquiries about it. It's cute, she says on the video it doesn't have the same taste with brands of Spirulina other than HealthForce.

All the best to you!
