I fell down the stairs in my house 2 months ago and was pretty much bed bound for 1 1/2 months. I went to the ER and was prescribed Percocet 4 times a day. After three weeks I was switched to Vicodin 2 tabs 4 times a day. I have been taking this for about two months. I am now alittle better and in physical therapy and the Vicodin no longer works for pain. I decided to stop taking the Vicodin becasue I did not want to go back on the Percocet. I am now having withdrawl symptoms which incldue diarrhea, stomach pains and being extremely lethargic. I have been drinking water since I have a decreased appetite and was wondering what I chould be juicing in this next week or two to help with all the withdrawl symptoms and help increase energy? Prior to this I juiced almost everyday but since my accident I have really gone down hill due to lack of motivation, pain, and immobility. Any suggestions.

Be sure to choose fruits and veggies that are high in potassium as you are losing a lot of that with the diarrhea and that is the most dangerous one to be low on. So put a banana in your smoothie. I work in a jail and deal with narcotic detox a lot. It is a very rough thing! I admire you for choosing to go through this in spite of havin a legitimate reason for the pain meds.

What were you juicing before? I would think anything would be better than getting no nutrition into your body right now.
On the healing end of things... your body needs nutrients to heal so I would add lots of green juices... ;)

I was juicing mostly fruits and some green smoothies. I am still a newbie so I am introducing greens into my juices. I wanted advice because I figured that some things are better than others so with the limited appetite that I have I would rather put the best thing in my body then just plain apple juice or something. I bought 2 pounds of bananas and carrots, apples and some other things for smoothies. After reading the post I bought some kale and green apples which I love together and I will be trying other green smoothies. The stomach issues are still there and the overall lethargic feeling. I've been trying to locate some wheetgrass too but it is slim to known where I live. I miss NY :(
