I have been picking dandelion leaves from my yard to put in my green smoothies. I have two questions:

(1) Why do the dandelion leaves in my yard look a little bit different from the dandelions sold in supermarkets?

(2) Are there any known bad elements in dandelion leaves? What I want to know is if there will be adverse effects if I have them daily.

Thanks in advance for replies.

ive heard there are many different varieties of dandelions, that differ slightly in appearance. the ones i pick in the garden are sometimes sharply-defined leaves, sometimes rounded leaves, sometimes with red veins, and sometimes with white veins

all greens are said to have some sort of "toxic" elements in them; thats why its better to rotate greens. in small amounts they are not going to be harmful, but its better to rotate.
