Question about Dandelions...

Hi dear rawbies

Would someone please tell me if I am supposed to use the whole dandelion stalk (white part included) in a smoothie? I understand they are bitter so I shouldn't use too many? Right? I am using a Victoria Boutenko recipe which calls for them added to a honeydew melon. Sound good? We'll see.

I only ever use the green leaves, roots and the flowers. I suppose the stem on the flower is ok too. White part ...is that the parachutey things? (the ones that fly away when you blow on them)

Well hello my friend - what'cha been up to? All I meant was the white part (stems, or roots I guess). I haven't got the flowers or the flower stems. These things I have are store-bought. So I wondered if I use both the white part (I imagine so) as well as the green leaves?

I think that is the same part that makes a kind of halo at the top of the stem ? I think that is a bunch of small weed seeds that float off in the wind to gently float over to my garden and start new weed plants.

these have latex in them so, if you're allergic to it...don't use any part of it. The white milk that comes out is latex based.

Dandelions are amazing for health. I use them alot in juice and such. Balancing them out with apples of course or celery. They clean the blood as well as burdock root. Most of the nutrients are in the roots now (fall).
