Flax seed oil taste?

The oil I just bought tastes really strong. I must say it tastes quite rancid, yet it hasn't expired or anything. And it's raw, coldpressed.

Is it supposed to taste like that?

I know I personally hate the tast of flax seed oil by itself. When I add it to smoothies though, I don't taste it and I know I am getting the goodness anyway.

Even if it hasn't expired it might be old. With flax oil fresher is better. I used to buy a brand (I forget which) that was fresh because they only made it to order. Still, it is not my favorite oil. I didn't use it enough and it would go bad in the fridge. I think once it is opened it is only good for 30 days.

I'd like to chime in and say that I love the taste of Flax Oil. It seems that's contrary to popular opinion. Au contraire.

Hmmmm, I like flax oil too. But it shouldn't taste rancid. I know flax oil can go rancid quickly.
