I'm just starting out on my raw journey and I am trying to eat vegetables that are in season.
Is there any way that I could prepare squash to use it in a soup or is it just gonna be too tough for a raw recipe?

I don't see why not. I don't have Alissa's book with me...is there a squash soup recipe in there?
I would chop up the squash, then blend with either coconut water or filtered water and season as appropriate...
gotta hurry! only five minutes to post this change!
PHEW - MADE IT!

Ooo thank you, that last one sounds really good, I'll probably throw in some celery and onion and call it a meal!

I've made a zucchini celery one too, similar to the first one. I love soups. Hope you enjoy! :)

Alissa has three butternut squash recipes in her book, but soup isn't one of them. They are Butternut Noodles with Golden Curry Sauce, Butternut Squash Patties, and Butternut Squash Pie. Haven't tried them yet, but they are on the agenda soon since butternut squash is, as you say, now in season.

Wait! There is a soup in Alissa's book on Pg 360. She says it's almost like a dessert.

I would throw curry powder in a squash soup.
