Hi, just signed up here today... I've been "mostly raw" for the past month and a half. I figured it'd be good to join a group whose "been there, done that."
I've been vegetarian for 20 years, actually I was a chocolatarian. Raw always made sense, but any time I tried to do it I had too many cravings to combat. July 1st I had hit a new all-time high weight, and decided I had to do something. My hips and knees were hurting all the time from the extra weight.
Fortunately I found something that worked for me this time. I'm into hemp, my business is hemp diapers, and I have known about hemp being so nutritious. I was doing a little research and came across hemp protein powder. I read that it help some raw foodists with cravings, so I ordered some. I was blown away when within 24 hours I had no cravings for junk food, and even chocolate didn't call to me!
Sorry, don't mean to sound like an infomercial. But anyway, during my transition over the past six weeks since starting raw, I've allowed myself "cheat" days once a week. I'm always so sorry after I eat cooked food. It sucks all my new-found energy right out of me and it feels like a bowling ball in my gut.
So yeah, I'll be hanging out here, asking lots of questions I'm sure. Thanks for being here!
