I recently tried my first savory green smoothie and it was not bad at all. I used tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, romane lettuce, red onion, avo, miso, black pepper. Tomatoes have to be the basic ingredient. I found that cold smoothie tasted better than warm smoothie.
Does anyone have a cool savory green smoothie recipe to share?

RawStar, I will try your recipes and let you know my experience.
Katie, Thanks for your recipe. I am trying to get away from bananas though. I think I have relied too much on bananas and I am getting too much sugar from them.
Veganforlife, I was looking for this 70 green smoothie thread and couldn’t find it! Thank you! I will find out the savory green smoothies in this list and try them.

The 70 Green Smoothie Sticky is in the Juicing Section, not the Recipes. Don't understand why it's there, because, in my mind anyway, Smoothies are not the same as juicing. Anyway, that's where it is.

Hi, RawStar, I tried this recipe
Ingredients:
• 2 roma tomatoes
• 1 medium to large cucumber or ½ English or Seedless cucumber
• 1 large stalk celery
• 2 scallions
• fresh basil (more or less to taste)
• fresh oregano (can substitute dried oregano)
• raw honey or raw agave nectar
• optional jalapeno or other hot pepper
• 5 oz spinach
And I was surprised to find it quite palatable. I am very happy to find a way of drinking a lot of greens without a lot of sugar, even just fruit sugar. I am going to try your other recipes as soon as I have purchased the ingredients.
A question: Is there a particular reason for your using roma tomatoes instead of other kinds of tomatoes?

Victoria Boutenko, in her new book, includes Clent Manich's experience. He went from 400 lbs to 170 lbs in 1 year. This is a daily favorite of his and has helped him lose a good portion of weight.
I am trying it too.
-big handful of mixed greens
-big handful of spinach
-4 leaves of kale (and/or)
-4 leaves of collard greens (and/or)
-1/4 bunch of dandelion greens (and/or)
-1/4 bunch parsley (and/or)
-handful of beet leaves (and/or)
-1 banana
-1 large tomato or 2 medium tomatoes
-1/2 avocado
-1/2 lemon, squeezed
-1/2 lime, squeezed
-1 apple
-4 large strawberries
-2 tbsp ground flax seed
-2 cups pure or filtered water
-1 cup ice
Makes about 64 fluid ozs. He divides this up into 4 16 oz containers which he keeps cold and consumes them every 2-3 hours until gone.
He also starts his day with fresh carrot juice with wheatgrass and 1/4 tsp cinnamon and the 1/2 hour later begins drinking the above smoothie.

That's because it's posted as a sticky in the juicing and fasting section. Why? Who knows...?

I am referring to my last post about Clent Manich's Green Smoothie. I am sipping away on it now. It will take a bit of getting used to and I may add some stevia or another banana or some raspberries. But this is a powerhouse of nutrition, I can tell.:D

Funny (odd funny) that when I first started drinking green smoothies I ONLY had to have them sweet, then I started liking them more "green". I'll have to try this one. It sounds REALLY good!

Hi Lucy. I added a bit of stevia and a bit of mango and it was fine. I just finished my first tall glass. That will do me for a few hours. I still have another mason jar full in the fridge. It certainly did fill up my vita-mix. Not crazy about making it work THAT hard. I may cut back the amounts a bit next time.

It's not savory, but my favorite is:
1/2 lemon (rind and all)
filtered water
spinach
a good squirt of liquid chlorophyll
I drink it every morning.

It's only yucky until you add something that will make it taste better. If it turns out not so tasty, then add fruit and make a mental note that the combo you just tried is not for you.
Lemons ALWAYS make a smoothie kick! :)

The recipe I posted today was not directly out of Victoria Boutenko's book but rather I found it when I went to a link in her book. So sorry about that. The link was, of course, Clent Manich's website I think. www.clentmanich.com He is in the throws of getting it up and running. I must have found it there somewhere.
