I live close to a Fresh Market (they carry lots of fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, etc.). Its about a 40 min walk, even less if I'm on a bike. Its kinda on the way to work too, so I was thinking I could pick up my daily meals there. Plan my meals for the day and go by to get everything. I am currently eating a SAD diet, not even vegetarian, but I'm tired of how I feel. I'm not making excuses for myself, not asking for pats on the back to tell me its ok, we all fall of that wagon. I'm getting back on that wagon and buckling myself in! I may not be completely raw vegan at first, but my veganism is starting now. I'd like to be mostly raw. I do not have many appliances I see that are called for when making many raw meals. I have a blender (somewhere) but if I can avoid using it, that would be great. I do not have a dehydrator except my oven.

So, what is the best way to go about eating a raw vegan diet while just eating fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, etc. Little to no prep. Is there a certain ratio I should follow? Are there certain foods I should make sure I include in my diet? Anything I shouldn't eat too much of? I was thinking I could hop on over to the Fresh Market tonight before work, if its not already closed, and get tonight's dinner. Just checked, they are still open. :) Any ideas for my first raw vegan meal in my raw journey?

Eat whatever feels good, looks good, smells good. It's called intuitive eating. Our ancestors did it. Be sure to have enough at home so you'll stay nourished and nurtured. Stay hydrated as well.

Yup, what Revvell said. Too you may wanna get rid of said SAD/CRAP food in your house so you are not tempted. Have fresh fruits areound. So what if you eat four bananas and 3 oranges and a green smoothie and that's it all day. Better then eating the garbage you are now consuming.
Eat greens, fruits, veggies, nuts. seeds, and sprouts as many and however you wanna eat 'em.
The dehydrated dishes are gr8 if you can prepare them that way. Many Raw foodists eat simply.
Just do it! Eat Raw.

Well I have a bit of a sweet tooth so when I try to eat healthy, I tend to grab mangos, bananas, apples, etc. Not many veggies make it into my mouth due to the fact they are not sweet.

I also want to try green smoothes. I have a hard time eating greens. What does a green smoothie taste like? Is there any way to make them sweet?

I work in a retail store and technically we are not allowed to have beverages or food on the floor while we are working. I can easily put raw almonds or something similar in my pocket while I work and make frequent trips to the water fountain or sneak cups of water to where I'm working. I'm feeling something sweet for dinner tonight, and maybe some carrots. Yum! We shall see what I can find. :)

Check out the green smoothie sticky. It has 70 recipes! And what they taste like is how YOU make them taste. You want sweet? add sweet fruits like apples. add a little greens like baby spinach to start; you can always up the greens.
This is YOUR journey and make the foods that appeal to you.

So, go for it.

Add fruit ~ which tends to be the base for many smoozies anyway.

I pretty much employ the no prep philosophy for my work lunches and breakfast.

Breakfast, any fruit I can eat on the tram/train without causing too much of a mess. Sometimes a green smoothie in a jar I can screw the lid on and put in my bag.

Lunch:

Bag of greens, chop a tomato, half and avo, sprinkle a bit of salt and a dash of cold pressed oil I keep in my drawer and away we go!

I do the prep at work, and buy much of the stuff on the way to work. You can also vary it with things like corn, cucumbers, carrot and any other quick prep veg.

Sometimes a salad prep is even too much, so I cut open an avo, sprinkle it with a bit of celtic salt, eat cherry tomatoes and greens straight from the bag (for work I buy pre washed greens for convenience).

Really easy! I just try to make sure that greens are a part of my lunch every day.

Eat only fruit until noon. That gets you going with NO prep. If you are really about NO prep then buy the veggie trays at the market that have the veggies already prepared. I'm thinking that when you have been at this for awhile and feel better you will get into some prep.
