There is so much on the talk shows about hoarding and clutter these days. I wonder, if raw foods helps us to de-clutter our bodies of extra weight and toxins... does it help us de-clutter the rest of our lives ? Does it help us to de-clutter our thinking ?

With the Energy..I'm in constant Motion, nothing stays long enough to grow anything around it.
Changing your Diet will Change the way you feel and your prospectives on Life thus your Surrounding. I heard someone say this week, cluttering was a Dis...ease. SO WE KNOW RAW HEALS.........

Does raw food help us de-clutter our thinking? Yes, it helps. It leads us there, we still have to do the letting go part, which can require some heavy lifting.

It does me, but I find that one has to go through a mental/spiritual detox just like the physical... it's not always pleasant! But it's necessary, and good.

I think eating raw helps with the emotional detox. Feelings of peace and happiness seem to emerge spontaneously as the days (of eating raw) go by.
I am a book/magazine/file hoarder. Going raw helped me to let go of books that are perfectly wonderful. I gave them to the library and got a good feeling from doing so. I digitalized magazine articles of interest, put them on a memory disc, then threw away the magazines. I had the energy to do it all and the 'clearing energy' from my raw food eating. After all, letting go of an extra 30, 60 or more pounds has a corresponding interior reality.
Its great to hear that raw has been transformational to others. I agree with what you are saying Green Woman, raw helps, but the mental/spiritual detox is still a process to go through.

All I know is I decluttered my coat closet today and have three large garbage bags of stuff to go to Goodwill. and I can actually fit my vacuum cleaner in there and everything has a place. Even got my hubby into the act. He is decluttering his office as we speak! Yay!

I'm wondering: has anyone who browses this forum had success conquering their hoarding problems with the help of Raw Food? Does anyone know of any cases like this?
I'm trying to help a miserably sick person with a severe hoarding problem. I just bought them a juicer (omega masticating) which arrived today after sharing mine (breville centrifugal) for a few days and am planning to get a blender (vitamix) and food dehydrator (excaliber) here soon. When we started the kitchen, it was terrible, no counters and no sink, no fridge (full of decomposing food) and a small path of floor. After vigorous cleaning, there is now space for such things and I have been buying produce/making juice for this person 2-3 times a day. This person still has bad eating/drinking/pharma habits and has not been getting the 100% I hope to provide soon.
I am crossing my fingers that someone browsing here might have experience with hoarding/hoarders & raw food. After 17 years of experience being close to it, seems there is no end to hoarding.

I think many eat to numb their emotions. When your body is busy digesting heavy foods, it takes away our ability to feel. Part of going raw and detoxing is emotional because we don't have that numbing effect. Perhaps that is why some fail at changing to a diet of raw. I'm not sure that this will heal them. It may start the process so they can seek other qualified help for their problem.

Raw Dad,
I don't know of any hoarders but did watch a documentary once about it and it really opened my eyes, that it was a symptom of something deeper, I just wanted to applaud you for your efforts in helping this person.
I totally agree that raw food is part of my spiritual journey and is assisting me in that journey.
With the added journey all clutter is cleared from my path.

It's almost funny that this popped up in the recent posts today. First it's amazing to see everyone's input because this is a topic that has been on my mind for a bit now. We just bought our house last summer and we're still in the over cluttered still settling in phase.
I woke up this morning and did some cleaning and some organizing.
I tackled our scary refrigerator and will be tackling the rest of the kitchen and the pantry this weekend.
My goal is to make some room so that all of our small appliances manage to fit in our pantry and move all the sad food my husband still eats so that my supplies that I have hiding in their have their own shelf.
As to my head, I think moving into a raw state of mind is helping me become more focused on what I need to do and have to do in my daily life.
RawDad, I think what you are doing is amazing! :) Keep fighting the good fight!
